Well now when I wore my hair longer than it is now }:~)
I would lay down with my head hanging over the side of the bed and use my fingers to work out any tangles after washing with shampoo and cream rinse and let my hair dry naturally.
My hair being naturally curly would curl up as opposed to combing and blow drying it which would take the curl out of it. So if you have a natural wave this method should enhance it. without using any chemicals or plaiting it

The easiest way I have found to get waves is to braid your hair when it is wet and then sleep on it. In the morning, unbraid your hair and you have instant waves! I do not know if there is a shampoo that helps with waves but they have it that helps with curls so it wouldn't surprise me.

Well, Last Christmas my sister got some Curl Amplifier. Her hair is naturally curly, but it gave her an afro! It works that well!

Just look around your Beauty store / Drug store and maybe even ask one of the ladies that work there for some Curl amplifier.
