sounds like the flu ...if so take over the counter cold meds and ride it out. You can nuke your food.......the same does not apply to your health....only a doctor can give you short cuts but, even so time is required for healing

i had this couple days ago it went. few things (most are under rated but help almost instantly.)
1) take 2 grams of vitamin c a day. 1 in the morning, 1 before you go to bed. it will help your imune system get rid of the bacteria/virus and any that your body doesnt need doesnt get stored, it just gets weed out, which i why its safe, effective and you need it daily.
2) drink lots of water. snot and mucus contains ALOT of water. if you are constantly blowing it out then you are going to get dehydrated very quickly and feel worse.
3) blow out as much of the snot as you can and spit the throat stuff down the sink. any infection causing micro organism in the mucus will get taken out.
4) take sudafed. its a decongestant and will help to keep your nose and throat and sinuses clearer. follow the instructions on the packet
5) sleep. the best thing your bod can do now is rest and sleep is the best way of doing it.

Lots of fluids... lots.
Try a over the counter tablet called Mucinex.. It is a very good medication for the symptoms you are describing.
Do you have a fever? If so, and if it lasts over 48 hours, you need to go to the emergency room.
Remember, fevers cause dehydration, so you really need to drink extra fluids.
Get alot of rest. Try to just stay in bed for a day. The flu is rampant right now, and alot of flu cases turn into pneumonia, so you may need to see a doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse.

the best thing for you is to do what the body needs. plenty of sleep, lots of vegetables and lots of orange juice. the worst things you can do is drink anything with milk as it makes phlegm worse, also i would have a cup of hot water with a bit of honey and a bit of lemon juice in it before bed. just look after your self and it will not cure it but will help your body fight it as fast as possible

The "hypochondriacs cocktail". One tab each of aspirin, paracetomol, ibruprofen and sudafed, washed down with a hot lemon/whisky toddy. It won't cure it but you'll feel a whole lot better and if there's enough whisky you won't care.
