Hmm... Well, thanks: I like to be thought of as a "real person", though most people would rather think of me as just a figment of their imagination. (He's not real, he's not real, ignore him and he'll fade away like a bad dream!) *Cough*yeahright!*cough*
In all seriouseness though, I'm betting that since so few people take other people, and life in general as seriousely as they need to anymore, it's natural that a lot of the people you come across will be more likely to be petty, nonsensical, illogical, or otherwise just not seem to give a damn about the fact that you're in the existential situation of needing answers (and serious ones at that.) Hence, abuse of programs like Y! Answers will likely abound until each individual person dedicated to giving answers like a five year old gets a metaphorical bucket of water dumped on their sleeping head and opens thier eyes, with shouts of "What the F*ck?!". Such people have a lot to learn about life, and in my experience, people who are careless and make stupid decisions are rarely long for this world. Problem is, there'll still be ten more like him born five minutes after he kicks the bucket. My point? Yeah, go ahead and have your fun, people, but for Christ's sake, do it someplace where people aren't trying to be serious!
Good luck with future questioning, Crystal. May you find all the answers you truly need, and fewer of the ones you don't...
Ave Satanas!

because THIS is yahoo answers. It's a format for expressing mostly shallow thoughts, although some serious people show up now and again. Most of the people on yahoo answers, I'd guess over 50 percent, are under 20 years of age. Even with their best intentions, deeper thoughts can only come as a result of DECADES of experience.

This is a forum where everyone can express their many varied opinions and beliefs whenever they may choose. What is serious to one person may be silly to another. Not to mention that sometimes we all need to be silly in here every now and again. There is an underlying tension here and a LOT of hatred and bigotry that some people don't want to face head on, so they crack jokes. That is their way of dealing, their own mechanism. Just give your own answers and let others give theirs. When asking a question, choose the valid answers to you and leave the rest. Thumbs down what you don't like. Or just don't be here. You have all kinds of choices. Whether or not you are happy with your experiences here on Q&A is not everyone else's responsibility, it is your own.

Its unfortunate but true. Everyone wants to be the first to answer regardless of how stupid the answer is. I try, when the question is legit, to give and honest response but tend to get thumbs down. When I answer with bulls**t, thumbs up all around. It makes me wonder where all the mature adults have gone and if YA has been overrun by immature "yahoos" looking to just be funny. This section in particular sees alot of nonsense just like the gender and women's section. Grow up people and try to give some honest answers. Also...asking about the size of a woman's a** doesn't belong in gender/woman area.
Good question and I'll be curious to see the responses. Have a great day!
Also: BTW this is the religion and spiritually section...NOT just the christian section. Lets try to be open to all religions.

It seems to me that there are very few people with genuine questions, and I am sad too. Also, everyone is more interested in being a comedian than learning anything about God.
Some people are mad at God and this is a place where they can vent. They mock the only one (Jesus) who can set them free.
I would strongly discourage someone who is truly seeking the Lord not to start here.
What is this? a final stopping place for all those who fork over money to Y! Personals and don't get anywhere.

Your question is one that I would have asked many times over. I agree. I am one of those that answers with silly answers when the question is ridiculously mundane and superfluous idiocy.
I figure I'm answering the only way the asker would understand. While I'm on a roll, how about people taking some remedial English classes before they take up "writing" as their avenue of expression!

Its one of the unfortunate problems with communicating over the internet, you cannot see another persons face and you can't really gage their emotions. Sometimes that leads to just guessing wrongly the emotion with which they are speaking. (i've occasionaly gone to write an angry reply to something i though was genuinely mean but on second inspection find that was meant humourously.) but more often than not it ends up that we just don't feel the emotional impact we would if we were speaking face to face. Because of this we occasionally treat others flippantly. I think.
Theres nothing wrong with having a bit of a sense of humour when it comes to religion and spirituality though, it lets you be more flexible.

I am here to answer questions - for no other reason than I want to.
Some questions are silly so I give them a silly answer, others are stupid so I give them a silly answer, some make me think so I give them a serious answer, some offend me so I give them serious (if perhaps a little glib) rebuttal.
It's just people relating to people in the way that people do....
...all work and no play makes.....
(did I pass?)
@ needanewstart.com - Bwahahahhahah.... I bet you wish you actually read the question before your 'silly' cut-paste antics!!! - is this not the worst kind of answer? The preaching cut-paste that bears no relation to the question

I have been on this site 18 months, & as you can see that I have ask only 21 questions & not all had to do with religion, I think in my 37 yrs as a Christain, that God has shown me many truths in his book to know where I stand at on a subject, I have not in my 37 yrs as a Christain just sat back & listern to preachers telling me how to be saved, I know how to be save, But We have to grow up in the Knowledge of the Lord & Eat fresh Meat in God's due season, as we are living in the Flying Eagle age, an eagle will not eat old dead meat(Denomination teachings), But they eat freshly killed meat(or New truth of God's word. So, I have always said 99.9% of the people here are here just to argue, I am here to try to help that 1/10% that is serious.

people are silly creatures....real people are dificult to come by in todays society, where its all about glamour, and not much thought is given to character. I find it disturbing that most people would rather read the gossip on the newstand than even attempt to educate themselves about our world by reading the newspaper. I think the main reason for this is wanting to live vicariously...wanting to be silly...wanting all the trappings of high fashion and modern life....instead of trying to learn more about the problems of this world, so that we can try to fix them.
