I was chatting to a guy at work who I see around often but don't actually know (we just smile etc) then at the end of the conversation, I asked "So whats ur name?" and then he answered and asked my name also...and when I told him he said "Nice to meet you finally...".
Does this have any meaning lol...or just a friendly thing to say to any acquaintence one makes?

Ask him out to lunch have another woman go with the both of you and don't tell her anything!
Just ask a woman to go to lunch and tell her that you're going to see if so and so wants to go too ( see).. if she says yes first. or anyother woman just get someone else to go to lunch also, Then if he says yes. Thats how you can get things rolling.
You only have to have another woman go with you 2 times then It can be you and him, However you must leave him out of the lunch thing sometimes to.
Make it look good, Then if he asks why didn't you ask me?
You can say oh girl talk it would have driven him nuts. By this time you'll have his home/cell number anyway..(LOL) Have a good one! this will work...

I think this guy maybe shy, and now you have made the move, this has broken the ice, he maybe not be looking for a girlfriend , but just a friend , or someone he knows as a work colleague,but hey you never can tell what will happen it may work out to be something more in the future, but don't get your hopes up.Good Luck

"finally" ...hmm, that could mean something a little more than just a simple hello. By saying finally, it means he has been waiting to be introduced with you, which means there's potential for something.
