It is a branch of Orthodox Judaism that follows the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov (Rabbi Yisroel Ben Eliezer). It has splintered into a lot of small sects- generally based around a specific dynasty of Rabbis. The largest of these sects is Chabad Lubavitch.
