I broke up with my boyfriend 2 days ago. We haven't spoken to each other since. I wanted to give him some time to really think about it all.
We had plans to spend New Year's Eve together. I'd really like him to come, so I'm thinking about reminding him I'd like him to be there. How does this text message sound like:
"My invitation to spend New Year's Eve together stays open, if you're still interested."?
Should I send it to him or find something else?

If you really want to spend new years with him, even if its just as a friend i think you should send it. It could be your new beginning, as Just friends.

What? when you broke up with him, was it amicable? Or better yet, how would you feel if he broke up with you, then two days later he 'remembered' that you both were to go out to a function and he asked you? I would be insulted and then think I was being used. Why did you break up with him if you now 'really' want him to spend New Years Eve with him? Don't send the text, find someone else because if you don't want to be with him after new years, he may think you are leading him on.

I would just say, "So, we still on for New Year's?"

You're still asking the question, but it is less insistent and makes you seem less desperate. It implies that your plans won't really be made or broken if he doesn't show up.

If he has other plans then you should just have a great time with your friends because you guys are exes for a reason. Celebrate with the people that want to be with you, don't dwell on the one that didn't because it isn't worth it.

Yep, find someone else. You've made it this far so don't us new year as an excuse to get back entangled in him.

Leave him out of the loop. You broke up time to let go. You can do it.

go for it! what's wrong with trying right.see how it goes if he says yes then spend new year's eve 2gether.If he says no so be it.find some of ur besties to hang around with or maybe family members. If he dosent want to be friends yet just give him time, maybe he just needs to cool off for the moment.but just give it a try.

if you already broke up with him then why are you still txting him, it sounds as if you're so desperate to be with him, i suggests that you celebrate with friends, family, and not someone you broke 2 days ago because the pain is still fresh

It makes you sound kind of desperate, no offense intended. I'd just spend new years with friends if I were you.
