Seems to be a general expression "It was so Indian". It can even be used to describe people "She is so indian", but I don't know what it means.

Could mean many things but one possible meaning could be from the expression "Indian giver": Give something and then expect to get it back like the Apaches in North America.(Historical habit)
So Indian : give and then take it back!
