Bijoli Grill Icecream Soda was a popular soft drink in Kolkata and few other parts of Bengal before the advent of Pepsi & Coke. It was my personal favourite. They closed shop a few years back because of various problems. The unit is being reopened. Please see following link

How would you suggest they develop their business strategy given their financial constraints so that they can develop into a pan India if not a global brand ?

Hi Soumya,

You seem to belong to Kolkatta. Very good. I was also there for number of years. The Bijoli Grill Ice Cream soda was my own favorite and almost daily I used to take it. But unfortunately due to financial constrains in the firm and family they had to close down. It is a good news they are opening up again, but my own doubt is will they be able to compete the multi-nationals Coke and Pepsi. At the most they can do good business in Bengal or eastern India only. These MNCs are like crocodiles and they will swallow others. They have to gain the confidence again and have vigorous marketing statagies, then only they can stand in the market. -
