with depression you must not revert to religion, because religion will make it worse

depression usualy come from juices in the brain that is not activated, therefore you need medication, friendly surroundings, nature sounds, relaxation and a cool breaze if you are in a warm country or a warm fireplace when you are in a cold country.no alcohol, but horlicks(malt)

if a fight with a person caused the depression, then go immidiately and make peace with that person, read some light material, and dont think too much about anything, most people this time of year suffer from depression.otherwise phone lifeline,or join a club.

When Jesus healed someone he said that they had demons inside, demons are imperfections.

This demons were not made so by God, there are bacterias and viruses that are so smart as to mutate against cures, living in people as parasites, killing them. They can exists as microbies or as imperfect thoughts, they have been around for ages, planted as a trap before creation. Same as Black Holes.

God has given us medicine in a time when faith seems to fade, to cope with problems, sad that the masters of the world created finances, paid professions, and insurance to benefit of what God had given for free, are not the herbs everywhere?.

It is not your fault to think that way since ignorance of truth rules the world now. The doctors know so much about those things that they even make use of Placebos.

If you are depresive what you need to do is to change your life style. Make good friends, and don't be too hard on yourself when you have done your best, and when there are things you can not change. Because those who structured the world the way it is do not care about your problems.
We all love you, I bet even many do.

God made the universe and he made everything to follow certain natural physical laws. In that way you were made up of all the chemistry of your parents.

Sometimes the mix is not properly balanced and people are born with problems. Some much worse than yours.

He doesn't keep a hand in every situation. he made the blueprint but the rest is up to the natural laws that he put in place.

You may only be suffering from a lack of some available chemical that will fix you right up again. (seratonin or melotonin or something like that).

The brain has a very delicate balance but if either or both of your parents had a surplus or deficiency, perhaps it could be multiplied in you.

It may even just be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) where the lack of sunshine affects your mood. In which case you need only buy a full spectrum light source fron your local building centre and have it on a few hours a day

Seek medical help if you need it, but don't blame GOD. Instead ask him for the strength to deal with it and thank him afterwards for the cure.

Meds can help. Talking can help. Prayer can help. But it really comes down to you. Are you happy with yourself? Don't follow what other people say you should be doing. What do you want? Visualize yourself being happy, health, and at peace. The only person you can change is yourself. A doctor can give you meds that can help you get control of racing thoughts or enhance your mood, but there is no magic pill that is going to make it all better. Until you decide you are at peace and happy, it isn't going to happen.
Some background info on me. I have been in the hospital several times for suicide attempts. I have been on various different meds by doctors. I grew up very religious and believed in all that I was taught at church each week. Bad things happen to good people. Good things happen to bad people. I now don't take meds, I don't go to the doctor and I don't go to church. I have a wonderful wife who is very supportive. I still cycle with depression. I have accepted that depression is part of my life and I must deal with it. I take St. John's Wort, which can be bought in the vitamin section of Wal-Mart. I have listed several books that have helped me with my perspective on life in the source section. I don't like everything about me. There are things I wish would change, but I try to deal with what I have right now. People who don't feel real depression don't understand. There are a lot of people who will tell you glowing words about God's will, God's Plan, and things happening for a reason. You control your life. You decide if you are going to be happy, sad, excited, or depressed. Believing in God is great, but don't put the blame for the problems in your life on some mystic father figure in the clouds. God wants you to be happy and at peace. "One raindrop raises the sea" (Dinotopia) Your one life does matter. You can make a difference in the world. I tried so many times to leave this life, but something always happened and I am still here. Was it God? I do know that I am still here and I make a difference in this life. Am I always happy? No, yesterday I was in a fowl mood. But today is a new day. Is it going to be a good day? That is up to me. I hope I helped you a little bit. Good Luck. If you can't handle the depression on your own, go to the doctor. It is better to ask for help and crawl back up, than for you to leave this life by your own hand. I've been depressed for years now and I used to believe in God.
I'm not really sure any more.
I kind of got to the point where its either 1. god hates me and isn't as perfect as he says he is or 2. he doesn't exist. I kinda went for the second option because the first is too painful, but sometimes I feel like there's somebody up there thats got loads of people to love him by decieving them and hes not really perfect...
And by the way, Im 14. Why would god, who is supposed to love everybody, make somebody hideous and deformed- somebody who he knows used to love him! Somebody who he knows is actually a nice person!

So, blame a deity for the ills in your life? How about you identify the source of the depression and make the changes necessary to live a happy life? Taking responsibility for your own actions would be the order of the day. I know, the idea is as revolutionary as getting off welfare and getting a job, but hey, I am a progressive thinker.

Of course, there are those whose depression stems from an actual medical condition. In that case...no, wait, the advice still holds. Identify the source, take proper steps.

...and stop blaming "God" for your inability to be an effective human being.

Honey, "God" (if you believe in the concept that is) has ansolutely nothing to do with depression. Going to church and praying is not going to cure it.
You need to go to your doctor and get properly assesed and get yourself onto meds that WILL help you. You need to see a counsellor and talk about things face to face, not pray to a myth.

"How do you keep faith in a god that allows misery to happen?"

I don't. ;-) Nor do I swallow all the BS that is spouted about it being "his will".

"Does god care?"

See above answer.

Get to your doctor and get some REAL help.

Hi....

What would you do, if you broke your foot or contracted a disease!?

Yes.... You would go to see a doctor!

Mental illness, is just that something is wrong with another part of your body, that needs attention, your brain!

Nothing to be ashamed of and it is very important, that you get this problem solved!

Faith will NOT solve your problem!!!
