i have downloaded a program and it is in iso format, but how do i open and run it? I keep being told to go online, but is there no other option/program i could use

ISOs are CD or DVD images, meant to be burned to a disk. You can do so using the 'Burn Image' function of your burning software. That being said, if you don't want to burn it, you can use a program such ISOBuster, or (I recommend) just using a good, free archive tool such as TUGZip (http://www.tugzip.com/ ). TUGZip does ZIP, ISO and a lot more, and you don't have to pay for WinZip or deal with nag screens.

download a program called magicISO or powerISO.
The Program Uncompress The ISO. ISO Is An "Image" file. More Specificly It Is A Copy Of A Media Disk (CD/DVD).

Write that iso file using Nero Program to a blank CD.
1.Put a blank CD to the CD writer and open Nero software.
2.Select 'Copy and Backup' menu available in Nero
3.Click 'Burn Image to Disc'. One wndow will open
4.Make sure that File types to Image files(*.iso)
5.Then burn it to disc

An iso image should be burned to cd and then will open in the file browser from the cd drive, or may even autorun when inserted.

Hi, well, to play that game on the pc, you should put the .iso file on a CD(record/disc), but you have to burn it like an IMAGE, I mean you have to put it on the CD like you put an image, you should create and image-CD and it should work. .iso files usually work like so...If your game is made of 4 CDs, probably you have to follow this process for each of them.

you have to mount the iso file with a program such as:
http://www.magiciso.com/
or
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/
it will load as a bootable file

use nero to burn it in "ISO "on a disc and then open the files on the disc normally!!
