2 out of every three people on the planet do not accept Jesus. This saddens me because I know many will die without being saved and I know there is nothing I can do about it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Why do so many people refuse to let Jesus into their hearts?

It's not that people are refusing Jesus, it's that Jesus, if he existed, was just a man.

You should be happy to realize that nobody is going to a place of eternal torment. It's that simple.

But I will tell you this: the fact that you even care, shows that you're FAR better than most of the Tormentists on this board, and I appreciate that. Please, get out while you're still human; before you become like so many other morally-warped Tormentists out there.

Where do you get your figures from - did you pluck them from thin air? Very unchristian to make false claims!!! The UN figures give slightly less than a quarter of the planet profess to being christian and only a fraction of that number actually go to church. Christians are vastly outnumbered by atheists and Muslims so on your projection of a third going to heaven it suggest that the majority will be non christian?!!!!

Will you be in the other 2/3 or will you ask forgiveness for your sins?

alot less will make it into heaven, alot of people who profess to be christians are actually not saved. by the way they are also the ones making it harder to spread God's Word it is these people who the unsaved bring and cliam that Jesus is false. But all we can do is our part, if we all save a few more, not leave it up to billy graham to save a few million for me. But it does bother me, i talk to my family, my friends, co-workers. I do a one on one mentorship. I always find one or two who are looking for answers and make them my project, a slow steady process of learning and growth, just like school. When I say project, I don't mean like building a deck, I mean thay become the main reason I am here.

What about people who were raised in a different religion and truly believe they are living the right way. What do you say to them. Some people have never even heard of Jesus there whole life. You really think god will send them to hell for something they don't know and cant control. If you believe in a certain way of life and you practice that then thats the best thing. There are other religions, Jewish, Jehovah Witness and muslim all kinds who practice what they believe to be the right walk of life. Isn't that what god wants us to do.

I don't refuse to open my heart to Jesus/God, once there is actual proof of heaven/hell etc..

Untill then, I will stick with my scientific evidence.

I am not scared of going to hell, because I know there is no such thing. And if Jesus loves everyone, like people say he does. He will accept me for my beliefs.
And besides, I thing that god shouldn't discrimate to let people into heaven. I'm a good person with morals, just because I am an athiest shouldn't mean anything.

Thank you for your sincere consistent belief.
I'm amazed at the number of Christians who believe as you do, but seem indifferent and inactive in the face of it.
(This is not a call for more bad, condescending evangelism. Of that, we already have too much.)

But I'm an ex-Christian, and such because I became convinced that, at core, Christianity is not what it claims to be.
Many have found their atheism by reading the bible.
Many have looked at the behaviour of Christians and decided there was nothing spiritual about it...

Christians who declare that people who don't accept the gospel must be deliberate rejectors of a god they know exists don't help. (even if they have Paul backing them in Romans 1. One of the passages that first convinced me there was "something wrong.")

How exactly do you know this, and are you joining that 2/3 by judging your fellow man, when only God knows how he will judge others? I believe the information in the Bible was provided as guidance to the individual on how to live their life, not for some moron to come up with off the wall statistics in the middle of the night.

Other religions count too.

Christians believe in Jesus as the only way to heaven but other religions have their own requirements.

Common to all of them is that we must be good people and show respect and kindness to other people.

Hell is for people who do the opposite and cause pain and suffering like murderers and rapists. According to Christianity even they can be saved from hell so there is hope for all of us.

Hell certainly isnt for good Jews or good Hindus or even good Atheists. its for genuinely Bad people of all stripes

And they told me religion was about optimism.

"Why do so many people refuse to let Jesus into their hearts?"

"Answer: For the same reason that most people won't put their hands into a burning stove. They just aren't retarded."

well considering that it all the people that are, were, w and will be on the earth made up 2/3 of heaven...i'm not surprised that that number came up again...but yes it saddens me to know that so many people refuse to see that what they are doing to themselves is not the path to eternal life...and i can't wait til i turn 19 and can serve a mission so i can try and save as many of these people as i can...because they can be saved they just need to be spiritually touched by their father in heaven...because once that happens life is so much easier and makes so much more sense...
