I'm not an atheist or a theist and don't like being called an agnostic so... I don't know what I am, but I am absolutely not sure what will happen after I die. All I can do is hope, and I don't even want to do that.

100%. I'm a Buddhist, and I don't even believe in reincarnation. I don't actively disbelieve in it, either, but it's interesting that certain theories of life after death have enjoyed such popularity, while others, such as those of Norse mythology and the ancient Egyptians, have come to be disregarded. In the next 50-100 years, medical science will explain what, if anything, happens at death that we might not already understand: the measurable weight loss, the similar experiences of those who have died and then been restored to life, the "ghost" phenomena, etc. At that point, most religions will become obsolete. Privately, we'll apologize to our ancestors for abandoning their fantasies, and then most of us will adapt to reality.

I am 100% sure, because I know why people choose to believe in an "afterlife", and their reasons for doing so don't apply to me. Fear of death, the desire for an escape clause, the inability to be satisfied with the life we're given, a lack of understanding as to how the grief process works...those are not problems for me. My mind does not work that way, it accepts the brevity of life and inevitability of death.

It amazes me that people celebrate birth with such joy and then go absolutely bonkers when it's time for someone to die. You can't have one without the other.

You don't need to ask us for "honest answers" by the way, that is a bit insulting. Atheists are generally known for their intellectual honesty and would have no reason to lie to you.

100% Death is not a theory. It's a fact. The bible is a bunch of stories with a few historical accuracies, raising from the dead NOT being one of them.

A few historical accuracies does NOT make the whole bible true. That's like saying the American civil war proves that Gone With The Wind is a true story.

So yeah, I'm 100% sure NO ONE is coming back

100% here as well. I'll have to ditto Final Paradox's thought. It isn't a matter of do we believe in a god or not. There are literally thousands of Christian sects, myriad more different religions besides those. Of all those possibilities, you have a rather glum prospect that you've chosen correctly. Pascal's Wager doesn't work.

Why is this question directed at atheist?
This would apply to all members of any religion.
What if Christians are wrong and they come back re-incarnated as Buddhist believe? What if Muslims are wrong and they have to face the Goddesses/Gods of Wicca? What if we were all wrong and the Greeks had it right?

The way I see it, even if there is a God then He must be a rational being who would have more respect for people who can actually think than for people who grovel at His feet out of fear of the unknown, and He's not going to torture somebody for eternity just because he couldn't find any proof for his existence and wouldn't simply take somebody else's word for it.

"Shake off all fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear." -- Thomas Jefferson
