Yes, but only if it is also fresh roasted. It is said by artisans that much of the coffee in circulation by the chain coffee retailers like Starbucks sell stale beans and italian roast the coffee so that you can not taste the staleness, yet its still sour and bitter when dran black because of this. True fresh roasted coffee is somewhat sweet and silky.
If you ever get the chance, participate in an Ethiopian coffee ceremony where you can watch then roast, grind and brew right before your eyes.
