I had a biopsy taken on my leg a couple of months ago from this red rash thing (turns out to be a 'Sebrahoic Kerotosis'.

I don't think that the Kerotosis is the cause of it (it has never been itchy) but ever since the stitches have been in, it has been itchy. I was told by a friend that stitches may itch but it has been a couple of months now after the biopsy and it is still very itchy at times.

what could be the cause of it and what can I do about it??

Did the bumps just show up? Were you exposed to anything different or eat different food? Are they in clusters or evenly spread? Have you had chicken pox? Were you sitting in grass where you could have gotten insect bites? Try a dose of benadryl in case it is an allergy. One dose won't hurt you if it that's not the problem. If it improves but doesn't go away, try another dose. You could also try taking a warm bath in epson salt. It may soothe the itching ... or so my mom told me when I had hives, but it never helped as much as benadryl. You can also put on some calomine lotion that soothes itching. Honestly, I don't know which doctors are in their office tonight or will be there tomorrow, and I'd bet this does not merit a trip to the ER, so I hope these suggestions help. If it persists, check it out with your regular doctor.

If they put stitches, then did they do some sort of surgery? Or are the stitches just from the biopsy? Either way I guess the answer may be that they just agitated your nerves a bit and it may take as much as a year for the itching to subside. You can probably use some sort of sports cream to give you some temporary relief. But first I'd just buy a cheap bottle of cortisone cream.

Scars can itch like a bi*tch! I suggest that you try some talc om powder, but it may not work.

I have a big scar from open-heart surgery, n' it itched like a mo-fo for a couple of years, but it finally stopped. BTW, I scratched it a lot

Try petroleum jelly. Good luck

You might try applying ice, or even extreme heat, to see if that helps soothe (or mask) the itching sensation.
