Could be The Big Red One starring Lee Marvin, made in 1980. It is about a squad of American soldiers in WWII fighting the Nazis and there is a scene where they help to deliver a baby inside of a deserted German Tank.

"Southern Comfort" National Guard unit lost in the swamps but no tank!
Tanks are not very conducive for sneaking around in enemy territory as most soldiers tend to have very good hearing!!!
