How do you feel when you find out that a white guy likes Asian girls? Do you worry that maybe he'll like you JUST because you're Asian, and not because you are who you are? Do you think that it's cool? Or do you just not care?
I ask because I'm white (ethnic Swede from the US), and for pretty much my whole life I've been into Asian women,
but I haven't made much of a mention to this to any girl I've met because I don't want her to think I'm some creepy, anime-watching guy who wishes that HE was Asian. I'm content with who I am, happy even. Friends of mine who are Asian women will say that they're stoked that they met a white guy who doesn't care that they're asian only to be pissed off that he doesn't respect their culture or will even insult it; ones who are stoked that they meet a guy who speaks their language and is culturally aware are freaked out when they discover he has a set of swords, has every anime on DVD and a stack of comics three feet high.
What's your take?

As an addition... I *do* speak Japanese(I took it in college) and am taking Mandarin, however, I am not into anime or manga, I don't know much about feudal Japan or ancient China, but I'm aware enough of the culture while being quite proud of my own.

EDIT: don't bother telling me not to care or that it's weird. I've tried dating white, hispanic, black, etc... I'd rather be HONEST about a preference than drag some poor girl down because I don't really find her attractive. Nothing against anybody... just being honest here.
Interesting to hear that there are stereotypes about not respecting parents, etc. I dated a Taiwanese girl whose grandma loved me because I was so nice to her... haha (we split when she moved to a different state).
And yes... I do, in fact wear glasses :)

it certainly relies upon on the female. each and every lady has distinctive tastes in adult males. i admire some white adult males as long as they are handsome and characteristic a reliable character (lots of girls choose for that). yet to be trustworthy, i'm greater into Asian adult males, and that i could desire to marry an Asian guy sometime. If I have been to this factor or marry a white guy, he'd could desire to be handsome, advantageous to me and take care of me with know, knowledgeable (as in he can not be trash), and only specially a first rate individual. yet for me, I desire Asian adult males considering is a few thing my dad and mom could choose i circulate with somewhat than white.

I'm asian, (vietnamese to be exact). I have alot of friends who are different race. White boys tends to tease asian girls in a bad way by making fun of them and asuming they are chinese. We don't like white boys because they only like a girl for a bit, and as soon as they find someone else beter, they leave. Most white guys don't have respect for their parents and this is very important to asian culture. anyways, it's good that you love anime, but keep in mind that most asian girls are white washed in a way, and hate anime. LOL
Overall, it depends on the person. Asian are most likely to date their own kind.

I'm a white girl, but I lived with a Japanese girl for 2 years in college and we talked a lot about guys and stuff. This is the information I gathered.
According to her, Western guys are popular with Japanese girls. I've read the same thing from other online sources. I don't think that they will mind what his personal preferences are as long as he:
1. Can adapt to other cultures
2. Isn't just in it because they like submissive women (these girls are more spunky than many Westerners realize)
3. Isn't a pervert
4. Is into her for *who she is*
I dunno if this'll help you, but I've encountered a couple Japanese males who a similar preference for *white* women.......which I don't mind at all.......(although #1-4 must apply).

What is it with white guys liking Asians so much? I've noticed it. I'm part Asian and it freaks me out when they are waaay into but it doesn't matter much when it just happens to be me they like and not just my ethnicity.

If he likes me for myself I am content. If he also like me because I'm Asian, that's ok too. But not for that reason alone.

Hey Tristan, you got a kink brought on by anime, etc. Don't sweat it, explore it. Just a hint though, real life is pretty tough: don't think reading about asian-folk is the same as KNOWING them. Don't let that stop you.
