Humans will always be plagued by disease. New ones come along all the time. Just think in the last 20 years we have been "discovered" Ebola, Bird Flu, HIV/AIDS. One of the reasons that we have a difficult time readicating any disease is that they tend to mutate or become resistant to medications.

There are many other diseases out there besides HIV that can affect us. If we found a cure for HIV, doesn't mean we have a cure for the other sicknesses from the common Cold to more extreme diseases.

Cancer can still crop up too, that's when the body's natural cell division gets fouled up and the cells start replicating out of control.

There are many other diseases that don't involve the immune system such as heart disease which is one of the most common today. Also there are many components to the immune system and viruses, bacteria, cancer all affect different parts of the system so this would be a very complex issue.

Not only are there more diseases out there than HIV....new diseases are constantly popping up. Think about it: bacteria and viruses are always becoming immune to certain antibiotics and other such things. If anything, WWIII will be against bacteria.

That's a nice wish but it's a pretty broad statement. There was sickness/disease way prior to HIV ever rearing it's ugly head.
