Are you trying to be like Jackie and Aaliyah by not wanting to use conditioner? You need it SIS. If you want soft hair. Or do you want to start using oil instead of conditioner? Then keep your plait in all the time (anum, dolly, etc.)
Can you really live without conditioner? Remember we couldnt go for a shower without using conditioner..so we had to send dad moags and hamzy to get us honey balsam? lol.
I'll send you some hot oils in the post if you like.

conditioner does not open hair follicles. *rolling eyes* sometimes i wonder where you people get your stupid ideas from.
conditioner is not bad for the hair, provided you aren't using that crap from walmart or the drug store. pantene, thermasilk, herbal essence, and the rest of that lot are full of waxes and metals and other icky ingredients that cause build up. they have also been known to cause hair loss. i have also seen them cause hair to actually smoke and fall out during chemical processes in the salon (perm rods falling off the head with the hair still wrapped around them, for example).
all shampoos contain an active ingredient called a surfactant, which is a cleanser. surfactants are what make the shampoos lather. one end of the surfactant molecule loves water, while the other end loves dirt and oils. the problem with that is that it cannot differentiate between dirty oils and good natural oils, so shampoos strip your natural oils from your hair. therefore, conditioner is necessary to help your scalp replace the moisture lost when the shampoo took those natural oils away. some people (me included) don't use rinse-out conditioners; we prefer leave-ins. but a conditioner is a conditioner. they all work the same way. they enter the cuticle (outer layer) of your hair and deposit moisturizing ingredients into the cortex (one of the inner layers) of your hair. they also leave a coating of some sort on the outside of your hair, which is why you notice less tangling and frizz with the use of a good conditioner. good conditioners coat with natural oils, like, say, avocado oil, as opposed to your cheaper brands which will use mineral oil or just wax, which not only builds up on the hair, but can clog pores and hair follicles.
so use conditioner! if you feel it is too heavy, use a leave-in; they are lighter. your hair will thank you for it.

No, the shampoo washes andstrips away all dirt and moissture off of your hair. Conditioner replaces the lost moisture. And banishes tangles.

Too much conditioner can oil out the hair and cause your roots to be dehydrated. First at least two small squirts of shampoo (until it is gets all hair involved) then when that is all out put in two squirts of conditioner (hint: if you wait about 1-2 min on the conditioner it spreads and softens hair more). When you brush your hair do not yank it, softly comb it from bottom to top :)

So long as your conditioner does not contain any words ending in "cone" in them. They literally coat your hair with unwanted crap you don't need. And watch for alcohol in any hair products. And especially if it's listed in the beginning ingredients. Alcohol will strip the oils from your hair.

Conditioner is good for your hair. It's not necessary, but definitely great to use with shampoo.

The conditioner is what makes the tangles go away. Sometimes people with short hair don't need conditioner, but in general conditioner will make your hair less tangly and less staticy.

Ask Adam Sandler...Shampoo washes the hair...
So, conditioner is good every 3-4 days...shampoo every other day. Your hair follicles create natural oils that are healthy for your hair and create a shine and volume. You can thank my girlfriend for teaching me that one...

Not at all, it won't harm your hair. Conditioner generally makes your hair shinier and helps untangle really knotty knots. But you don't have to, lots and lots of people just use shampoo, it does the job - washing your hair.
