I don't really see the connection. I accidentally locked myself in my closet once, and it took me hours to come out. I had to pound on the door until someone finally heard me- it was really frustrating. But telling someone I'm atheist only takes about 2 seconds. It's a lot easier.

wow, that was an unfortunate break in the sentence.

my mom is a non-practicing atheist. she goes to mass every week. i don't really know anybody who's religious in a closed-minded way, but i do know several people who i wouldn't tell that i'm gay. i wouldn't deny it, but my sex life is very different from my spiritual life. it's hard to do ritual in bed [depending on the ritual, of course].

i wonder if it would be easier to come out of the utility closet than the broom closet, tho.

edit: an atheist pride parade! how fabulous!

Yup. Actually, it's worse-in that study, atheists were the least trusted group in America! I thought people of faith were supposed to be tolerant? Or at least Christians. Anyway, we used to not tolerate homosexuals, but as they grew so did their supporters-I think we're on to something here! When I told my parents I was an atheist they freaked. There really is a connection between those two. Not saying atheists are homosexual, of course, but I'm not saying atheists CAN'T be homosexual...You know what, I'm going to shut up now!
