Mine is a Bichon Frise. We have a male. My wife also likes standard poodles, but we don't have room for a second dog.

We have had 2 shelites (miniature collies) that we were very pleased with. Very smart dogs. I really like all collies, but shelties are small enough to be practical in a small house, yet have the look of a bigger dog.
I just got a Labradoodle (cross between a golden lab and a poodle), but had to leave town suddenly, so my in-laws are taking care of it - I think I've gotten to spend maybe half an hour with it. :-( This one has the body shape of a Lab, but the white curly hair of a poodle.

We have Coton de' Tulears,
which are very much like Bichon Frises.

I love them, they are such loyal, friendly dogs.

Mutts always make the best dogs! i dont even know what the hell a bichon frise is (lol, im sorry) we usually get ours at the pound so they dont kill them. and there real cheap.

I have two. Toy Poodle and Long Hair Chihuahua. They are totally different but they are both loyal and loving and make great companions!

i love yorkies, not only because the are small but because they are playful and still like to be held.
i'm not saying that just because they are so popular i just like their personalities.
oh btw, we have a miniature poodle and he's not so great. he's very quiet, boring, and even manipulative! we had a standard poodle once and he was rambunctious! standard poodles are a graceful yet strong looking dog. but you're probably not missing out on too much.

I had a terrior/poodle mix I wish I could find another one like him. I love all dogs but small dogs have to be my absolute fave. No matter what kind it is.

I love all types of breeds:) They all have different qualities and personalities. I have a West Highland Terrier and a mini poodle mix and a Chiuahaua.
