Nope. I lack belief in god because of lack of evidence or a testable theory.
I am an "agnostic atheist". I freely admit that a god COULD exist. I just merely lack belief until I have sufficient evidence.
However, I also think that some gods, like Zeus, Odin, or the Christian god can be disproven by logic and/or evidence.
For example, Zeus was disproven when the first mountaineer reached the top of Mt Olympus and didn't find the city of the gods there.

YES, but not man's made up version of God. That one is saddled with human problems.
Religion is for people who are trying to keep from going to hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been there.
Fear motivation is a human failing. Would a perfect being roll like that? Even Jesus on earth didn't roll like that. I always thought it was about love. Christianity was made up long after he left. Jesus taught a way of living and being and doing. That is all. They don't make Jews like Jesus anymore.
Christians never seem to question this notion that somehow a perfect being needs something from them or that somehow a perfect being could be displeased by them. LOL. If they did they might have to own up to their results instead of saying it was the devil or God.
No one thinks it just a little too 'human' to worship a sacrificial God by means of eating his flesh and drinking his blood at an altar? Am I being punked?
What counts is how we treat one another here on earth. God is going to be just fine. Always come from love and you'll never be lost. It's that unbelievably simple.

No, because I can see why you do. It makes you feel secure and happy. The idea that 'God is righteous' is very powerful. People love to believe that things will be fair and OK after all - maybe they even function better believing so. Believing that somebody who commits a sin or crime will always be seen and punished. That's why people like it. The way we fool ourselves could even be inherited; look at what scientists say about the way our eyes fool ourselves.
But if you like rationality, you could observe people's behaviour and think for yourself, wonder whether you could be wrong, than you could think about the possibility that God doesn't exist. It's your parents who told you. If you grew up in China, they would have told you the opposite.
God doesn't exist, because it's the way your mind works: you want things to be fair so - for you - things are fair.
And the saddest thing is that religion can be used to controll people. People talking about a 'law of God', to claim that there is an ultimate authority. That we shouldn't change our mind! Never, because... hellfire.
That's where the politics of religion comes in and that makes it sad. I think that I am a good person, I help people who need help and I listen to them. I know that people's minds can fool them; that you see things only because you want to see them. And so I say that the concept of 'God' is created by people. So I am going to hell, do you really think so?
Thank you very much. What can I say? I'm looking forward to it? Or: I feel very sorry that I am scheduled to go to hell and so I won't be seeing you again but I wish you all the best..

No.
God seems similar to Santa for me...
How can he be watching over millions and millions of people at once? And let us just die and suffer? Sounds like a 'God' to me... WINK WINK.
He can see us all, watch over us all, give us all AIDS, throw some Hurricanes and Earthquakes here and there.
I really don't get it... is he supposed to be controlling us all? Or guiding us? How does he exist? As a soul? Or as a tangible being? Do souls even exist?
I wish I did believe in God. It would be nice to believe that there is life after death, but is that any way to live?
So we should all be hesitant in what we do, doing good deeds, so that we can MAYBE live good after life...if that even exists.
SO.... my main point is:
I don't think life is worth living if you live by a rulebook created by nobody. That is why I am an Atheist.

I definitely believe in God, but a better question would be....Have you acknowledged Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?....My friend many people believe in God, but so do demons and they tremble. It fascinates me how something so simple as believing in Jesus Christ makes some people so unhappy and critical. Proof is what the people from the generation of Christ to today's seem to demand, but that proof has already been given and people reject it just like they rejected it 2,000 years ago....Jesus Christ dying on a cross, being laid dead in a tomb, and on the third day rising from the dead...this message is foolishness to the world. People want proof that God exists and that the message of Jesus is real...the proof lies in the testimony of those who Jesus has saved...many have been delivered from drug and alcohol addiction, mental health disorders, suicide attempts, etc. and have been given a new lease on life full of true abiding joy and inner peace...that is what Jesus has done for me...you do not have to believe it, but you cannot undo what He has done for me and for countless others. Laugh and mock, snicker and sneer, and tell me I am a fool for believing in Christ as my Lord and Savior, but I still get to enjoy my life that has been changed for the good by Jesus' love for me.

Yes I believe in God, and that's great that you're trying to witness for him. As Christians, our goal is to spread the word and to tell others about him, but in the end, it is the person's choice on whether or not to accept him as their Savior.

Language (at least written language) just can't express the noises I want to make in response to your rant.
Do you know anything about God? No. We can hope, imagine, believe, think and propose, but we know nothing about whatever God may or may not be "there." Just listen to good music, drink good wine and have good conversations. To say that no one can change your mind is infantile at best. I'll give you that much credit. Changing one's mind is certain evidence of possessing one. Wanna wrestle?

Does it matter what anyone believes or does not believe?
Is anyone going to intercede on your behalf when judgment does come? It is more complicated than this ... ... two man: one says he believes but has no love or proclaims to love but his words are empty for he has no intention of doing the right thing. Another man says he does not believe but helps out when he is able to and tells no one about it. Who is closer to being a good man?

I have a lot of difficulty believing in a god that refuses to accept human beings for being cautious. They have trouble accepting a higher being, therefor they are banished to an eternity to hell? I don't know whether or not I believe in a god or not, but I know that if he/she/it exists, they are not the perfect being we want to believe. At least, if christians are right, I know he's imperfect.
