Adam and Eve were alive before Moses got the ten commandments and the rest of the law. There wasn't a law or rule against inbreeding back then until after God told Moses the rules.

In some ways we have progressed a lot socially. We know that there are good genetic reasons for not breeding with family members. Even in livestock breeding there is a deliberate plan to vary the gene pool.
The social reasons for not interbreeding within a family are that it confuses social roles and disrupts future family relations.
Religion has not progressed very far from our brutal, primitive, barbaric past. In Europe and North America, we have developed a secular code of laws that protect people far more effectively than the primitive religious codes of the past.
the FIRST reason not to reproduce is that it is against the law.

Without going into deep scriptual teachings I try and make it simple. We were created by God. He had a purpose for the earth. In Genesis 1:26 it tells us that man was to populate the earth and take care of it. Adam and Eve were closer to perfection at that time. Man was created perfect but lost that possibllity when the first parents sined. Romans 5:12 Genectics play a factor in reproduction. The genes of family members today are very imperfect. More complications would arise if family members had relations. One person told you that angels saw daughters of men, these were bad angels who forsoke their position in heaven and were not ment to have sexual relations. So the bottom line is ADAM and EVE had the right perfect genes to reproduce and so their son Cain got his wife from his sister who also had the perfect genes .

Most likely because this story is a myth and never meant to be taken literally. Every culture had their stories of how the first people got here and how the Universe began.

Close family members don't reproduce because it is taboo; there are genetic problems that can arise, but only after generations of inbreeding in most cases. For the most part, it is a simply a matter of cultural taboo.

What does this have to do with homeschooling?

I suggest you put this over in R&S...you'll get the whole gamut of answers there.

(By the way - who else were they supposed to marry? There was no one else there. The laws about not marrying close relatives came about 2-3,000 years after Adam and Eve. The book of Genesis covers a very large period of time.)

Back when the world was first made, everything was perfect, and then Adam and Eve sinned and that's when diseases came into the world.

Little by little it became dangerous to reproduce with people so closely related to you and God told them to stop. the genetic structure of humans back before He told them to stop was more pure of disease and deformities.

Nowdays, inbreeding exists, so for our protection, God forbid us to reproduce with people so closely related to us.

We don't clearly know that that happened.

In the Bible is clearly says:

The Sons of God saw the daughers of Adam and Eve and saw they they were nifty and took them as wives.

So there is a Biblical Gene Pool starting.

No where specifically in the Bible does it say Adam, Caine, Able practised incest, although that could certainly have happened, but it isn't documented.

According to the Bible, Moses had not received God's law yet... so no law had been given to forbid it. Besides who else would they reproduce with???

What does this have to do with homeschooling?

Try asking in Religion and Spirituality and you'll get a few good answers, along with millions from atheists who will call you stupid for bothering to read the Bible... ignore the atheists.

becuase the gene pool was a LOT bigger back then and that was the only way for the world to get populated. now days if people did that there would be so many genetic mutations!
