Full Gospel Shirley, I don't disagree with anything you said, but it didn't answer the question. If you don't have a favorite fictional person, thats okay... but then why answer?

Also, just because a person occasionally does something just for fun, does not mean they have a weaker relationship with God. I imagine Jesus laughed occasionally!

I have to read fiction as part of homeschooling my kids, so we can discuss literature together. But my favorite fictional atheist comes from the one T.V. show I actually watch.

I tend to agree with you- Love Dr. House, however that episode that he did surgery on the unborn child, might have sparked a bit of belief in him. what do you think?

Edited: Sorry, I didn't read the whole question. Don't you hate when people do that? Can I name a non-fictional Christian who plays himself in a quasi-fictional TV show? I hope so, 'cause I love Bernie Mac.

I am a Christian and I only read Christian books, for so many years now. Books that are non Christian often will plant ideas into your mind that someone can so easily not pick up on, that can change how they see things.. just in their subconscious mind, and they arent even aware of it.
There is so much about God that I want to know, about Him, and His plan for us, and how that all is to renew my mind and change me into just the person He wants me to be. I want it all. That doesnt make me greedy. It makes me Godly. God wants us to have all that He can give us so that we do know and will walk and talk like Jesus, just like we are COMMANDED to do. ITs not just a mere suggestion. IT is a command. I count it all as JOY to submit my will to Gods will, daily, over and over again. I love God so much, and following Jesus is my hearts desire. I read books of men and women that have shown me that their writings always line up with the Bible, and even so < I still check out all I read against scripture.
I love things that tell of the new creatian man, of kingdom living, and how to be more like Jesus. I have no time for the fiction stuff. Many of my friends are into al the Left Behind stories , that are Christian, yet done from a fictional viewpoint. I think they are FINE books, but I want to know all the Bible has to say on that subject as well, to absolute deepness. I dont want Just the milk of the message anymore. I want the meat of it, and daily I want to go deeper still, so that I am so fully connected with my SPirit to Gods spirit that I dont miss a thing.God says to focus our mind on Him and good things. Then that is who we become like.
When we put our mind on all the other things except God, why are we shocked if we become just like the world.
Think on purity and holiness and become more like Jesus every single day. WOWOW, it is something to enjoy and celebrate
I dont mean to look down on someone who does read fiction. Thats not my place, and there was a time I did that as well.
But, once God took me into the supernatural realm , I found I just couldnt give a moment of my time to anything thats not of God.
But, God takes us all there in stages, as we are ready for it.
Anyone truly loving God and serving God, will be taken to this place before Jesus comes. Pray for it, and wait and see.
Jesus is coming soon.
God bless you again for a great question.
