I went through a terrible moot point, when I was molested as a youngster by two people (one i trusted, the other I didn't know), and then I went through this terrible depression during my teen years. During this whole time, I questioned, and wondered how could there be a God who would allow this. So I sorta started disbelieving. But now, as I got older and wiser (well just started happening recently), I started to realize there was probably a reason all that happened. Maybe God somewhat caused all that to make me stronger, and to help others who fall in the same path.

But you see, I'm not sure if I turned my back on God, and I was reading that it is considered something that will never be forgiven. I've always known something existed, but wasn't quite sure who. I also haven't gone to church in years. I don't really do any "mortal" sins, but yea.

Will be forgiven? O.o

[feels stupid asking this on an online board]

But yea, I'm going to confession on Thursday. Let's see how that goes

First off you do not have to appologize for being a victim and for turning your back on God. You were a victim, its a horrible thing that happened to you and yes it is hard to justify how something like this could happen.

You should seek God again because you seem like you must............ but dont think for one second what happened to you was a test from God or that there was a reason for it. This is a stupid religious excuse for abuse. Abuse is never acceptable and God did not create this abuse man did. It doesnt sound like you ever created a mortal sin it sounds like you were a victim and questioned God..............he would probably expect you too,,,,,,,the true test is wheter you can let him back in or not.........................

I am so happy to hear that you came to such a conclusion; God making you stronger, and helping other women cope with molestation, etc. You can be a very powerful voice for young women everywhere, because of your experiences and such. I am also so sorry for what has happened to you. It's a very tragic thing. All else aside though, it is a sin that can be forgiven. C. S. Lewis was an atheist before converting back to his faith. There are many others that have strayed from the religious path, but haven came back, some even becoming priests, cardinals, bishops, etc.

Just go to confession and talk to the priest about what has happened in your life, and be sincere, etc. You could always take RCIA classes.

I'm here if you need a friend. :]

First of all , I am SO sorry you had to experience what you did when you were a young child. However, please never think that turning your back on God, has stopped you from having a relationship with Him. Christ died on the cross for all of us- because all of us turned our backs on Him and sinned and fell short of His glory, You do not have to go to a priest to confess- why wait until next Thurs, when you can go directly to God right now, and ask Him to forgive you- for turning away. Jesus took your place and mine- and He is waiting for you to come home. Remember the story of the prodigal son? The son walked out and then realized what he had done, and turned back, and before the son got back home, the Father ran to meet him.

Yes you and I and anyone who wants salvation can be saved. Jesus told a parable of a son who left his family and finely returned home. There was much rejoicing and a great feast for this long lost child. Thats the backslider Jesus was talking about. God doesn`t want any of his children to fail. God Bless

You can be forgiven. Confess your sin to God and ask Jesus to come into your heart and be Lord of your life. Give your life to Jesus. Its not about what church you go to, or about confessing to a human being (though there is nothing wrong with doing that) it is about letting Jesus be your Lord and Savior. Ask Him in today.

You should NEVER feel like you cannot turn to God after having turned away from Him. He understands your heart, better than you do, and will help you return. God bless, and I hope you find peace!

How can you feel guilty over something some adult did to you? Quit beating yourself up about it- It WAS NOT YOUR FAULT. If it makes you feel better, forgive yourself for allowing it to happen, but is still wasnt your fault.

Be careful as to whom you confess to and what is confessed, as a matter of fact the only one needing to hear your confession is God Himself, unless you have harmed someone then you could go to them to ask for forgiveness.
