Okay, I have a question to anyone out there who may be willing to answer. What happens when a good Christian falls into a sinful lifestyle. Like they stop going to church and begin dating non christians, having sex, cursing and drinking. etc.
They still believe the same things they always did, but they are not showing it in the way they live or in their day to day lives.

If they died would they still go to heaven? Are they still considered a christian, and if not what would they be considered?

This question is really bugging me so please take the time to answer, also please im me if you would like to speak further about it!

The Bible has much to say about backslidding.
The person once they've turned away from God,remember God never walks away from us.
That person is always 7 times worse than before.Having known God it leaves them miserable.
So your answer would be No they would not go to heaven if they walked away from God and started living life apart from God's plan.
Infact the book of Revelation says that their name can be erased or blotted out from The Lamb's Book of Life.
For it to be erased or blotted out,It had to be there to start with.

Name erased or blotted out
Revelation 3:4-6

Because they have lost their first love (Jesus)
Revelation 2:4-5

I think you could be rich and still be a good Christian if you are following the path of Jesus - charity work, good heart, helping others, not being judgmental, etc. I don't think just because you're rich it cancels out your ability to be a good Christian - it's how you live your life, how you got that wealth, and what you do with it that matters most probably.

Sunshine regarding dating non christians, if you are having problems with loneliness and eager to date in order to hide from your loneliness, i would suggest you start meditating on this and begin to conquer your loneliness and start learning and teaching yourself to be happy and content being alone until you find the right person in dating. when you are at work or school rather than thinking about that awesome movie you watched or what your girlfriends did. instead spend time thinking about being happy in life and being content with what you have and the good friends you have now. constantly think on this. fight that lonely feeling you have, practice being content, being lonely is all in our mind, it a habitual thinking pattern. we have been conditioned by society to think we wont be happy unless we have a boyfriend or girlfriend. same thing with drinking, think about how bad your felt and how you threw up all over the place when you were drunk. think about the pain and suffering you were feeling. contstantly think on this. and you will slowly overcome and start to change. Sunshine if you want to be a good person you can start doing that today. going to a church and singing songs for 30 minutes and listening to someone preach for 30 minutes wont make you good. so if I say S**T do i go to hell? but if i say "CRAP" oh thats ok with God. churches have never proff to me that sex outside of marriage is called "fornication" and is a sin. i would not worry about those things.

spirituality is all your own.
if you still genuinely believe in your religion then nobody, including the big guy upstairs can question you. what it somes down to is that for a lot of people, especially young people, the rules dictated by various organised religions are too much of a burden. i believe you can date whoever you want, indulge in whatever enjoyable activities you like. its your life. My late father believed that the key to eternal happiness was to ignore organised religion, and instead do whatever makes you happy, so long as it doesnt hurt anyone. It sounds like thats pretty much what your doing, and if your hearts still in it and your not hurting anyone, i dont think your doing anything wrong. and ultimately, you can tell yourself whether you feel happy with the life you;re leading anyway.
hope thats helpful, or reassuring.
xx

Praise God!! You are being convicted your heart is not hardened. Since you are seeking God is waiting for you to return. The Word says that if one goes astray He will leave the others and go look for them. Invite Christ back into your life you know the consequences for your sin. To live is Christ!! When a believer falls and does not return they are considered backsliders, at the time of death you must be serving Christ with love and obedience to enter the kingdom, Christ death was not in vain and should not be treated as though it were. We can not know the truth and do as we please it is better to not have known at all. Come back friend He will always love you. God is a gentleman he will not push himself on you he gave you free will which is very scary if you know the truth. Please come home, so we can enter heaven and praise our Lord. I will pray for you, I lead the life style you talked about, then I on my own decided I did not want to live that way anymore, still I was suicidal, miserable just to the curb!!! I had it all in the world but not in my heart, then I met Jesus and how my life has changed! If you wold like to talk to someone who cares about your soul more, please write me at Joannlynne2@yahoo.com I believe this is urgent for who knows when he will return I want to encourage you to come home to Him he is waiting for you you are loved!!!

Everyone is inveloved in the the struggle with their own sinfulness. The mercy of Jesus is infinite unlimited. He even called Judas his friend minutes before he betrayed him to death. think of the good thief on the cross, the first to be given paradise. Being baptized you were adopted by God to his son forever. With that as the foundation for your identity and proper true self image you have the motivation to begin following Jesus up out of the muck and quicksand of desires and habits contrary to God's love for you. He doesn't want us poisoning ourselves with sins but to come up higher into agreement with him and his ways to experience growing into an eternal relationship of continuously improving love. You're already taking the step towards that by asking your question here which is an act of seeking God and a desire to come to him placed in your heart by his love for you. Ignorance of scriptures and his Gospels is ignorance of Christ. We cant love what or who we do not know. That is the means God gives humanity and you for beginning in knowing God.

I think all Christains have strayed from a close relationship with the Lord at one time or another. We are humans and we make mistakes. God knows the intent of our heart and accepts us as His own until we willfully and completely turn our backs on Him. Then, I believe, we have severed that relationship with God Himself and will not go to Heaven.

Maybe that's just where that person is right now. Christianity is a dance. Sometimes we're close and sometimes farther away. Jesus says all things work together... How much faith do I have in His Word after all.

No one can tell whether they, or anyone else, are going to heaven. God works in mysterious ways. I know that's a cliche, but you wouldn't believe who gets into heaven before you.

A Christian who blatantly lives in open sin without the incentive to change their ways will be cut off and thrown into the fire. (Matthew 7:19)
