God lives in eternity, we live in time... for the moment

Ecclesiastes is dealing with mortal life and how we place so much importance on " WHAT I HAVE DONE" yet in the end nothing we do will keep us around a minute longer to enjoy it when it is our time to die. You have been born, you will eventually die just like the millions of people who have been born and died before you. It is a cycle that has not ended yet.

In Psalms 37 God states that the cycle will end. He gives the promise of eternal life for those who believe and eternal damnation for unbelievers(the wicked). And he states that all who believe will be there to see the end of this cycle and the wicked in verse 34. (which also means the resurrection of those believers who have died)

But for consideration you may want to consider looking at Matthew 6:19-21. This is what those in Psalms 37 are doing(the meek, the upright, the righteous). They are living there life seeking after God.

I can comment on the last verse. The earth abides forever but we don't it is important how we live our lives now. I hope you make the right decisions in life.

If you are chosen by God, you want to understand them and you will understand them.

If you are not chosen by God, then you won't.
