Blu Ray vs HD-DVD
Blu ray is winning the format wars, they have multiple movie companies behind them, HD DVD only has paramount.(i've been buying blu ray movies because my ps3 can play them, just got 2001: A Space odyssey and Blade Runner today)

Backwards Compatibility
60gb can play all ps2 games, 80gb like 90% 40gb none

Easy to useness,
the xmb is easy to use, have no problems with it

Community
The community is good, there are very few annoying young kids screaming over the headsets i have a bunch of friends and when i have a question i send msgs out and they help me.

Games(Im sure your wondering about this)
Single Player
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Multiplayer
Warhawk
Resistance: Fall of Man
Call of Duty 4
Unreal Tournament 3

1). Blu-ray is outselling HD-DVD 5:1;
2). NTSC 20GB and 60GB have the best backwards compatibility, 80GB and PAL 60GB have decent backwards compatibility, 40GB can't play PS2 games at all (it can play PS1 games, though);
3). It's a good investment (as good as it can be with electronics), Sony constantly adds up new functions with firmware updates;
4). 360 - not suggested, because of it's high unreliability rate (may be I'll get one too, when they'll fix it, but Microsoft doesn't seem to care about it's 33% return rate).
5). I suggest NTSC 60GB - it has a best backwards compatibility with PS2 games (if you're from NTSC region). If you're from PAL region - 60GB (reduced backwards compatibility, but still has it);
6). Community is constantly growing. In this spring we'll get Playstation Home - virtual universe for PS3 users. Online is totally free.

First of all i personally like the PS3 but think its not worth the cash you pay. There just arent enough games for it, especially if you compare it to the xbox 360. Internet is free on the PS3 but i found it to be far worse then xbox live. I can think of maybe 2 or 3 games i like for ps3 and tons for the xbox 360. Unless you just have the cash to spend then i wouldnt get it until they come up with some good games.

Even though the PS3 is shinny and creates a great look to the games, it seem to fail the test of game consol of the year. It's sort of like an old Xbox but with the extra SHINE to it. If your looking for a system with good games, currently Microsoft is in the lead with game sales. Congratulations Microsoft.
