Amazingly enough, there will be some kind of "reason" that will be put forth as the excuse for millions of people disappearing. Many will finally believe and know the truth....but many will not.

Jesus healed people, He raised them from the dead. Even then, people would not believe.

There is no convincing hard hearts, if they desire to not see the truth.

Is it the "rapture" of Matthew 13:24-30, where all the heretics are removed from the earth and burned, or is it the rapture of I Thessalonians 4:16 where all the Christians are taken into the clouds (after the resurrection of the dead).

If the former, all those heretics who preach this "rapture" of the Christians prior to the time of the beast will be taken away, and only the true Christians will be left.

If the latter, since it's after the first resurrection all the unbelievers and heretics will be gone, so it won't matter anyway.

By the way, the word "rapture" is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. It's just one of those things the heretics invented.

Go ahead with the thumbs-down. It doesn't change the truth.

I have to chuckle at some of these answers I read, but getting back to serious business, there will be a rapture but it certainly won't be a secret one since Rev 1:7 says
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen."

Will the atheists realize He is God? Well, according to the following verses, they do but they reject Him:
Rev 16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

In the end, however:
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

And so they die. When they are raised again. The scenario changes:
Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Phi 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

As for those who rejected God they are raised from the dead in the second resurrection, and the second death is their portion it seems...
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Ralph Nader is more likely to get into the White House than the rapture is likely to be anything but a figment of feverish 19th century evangelical imagination.

There will be a great turn in human consciousness.

The common description of the rapture can't be considered a settled fact among Christians though.

There is no such thing as a rapture...that silly (and harmful) idea was born from a woman named Margaret McDonald(?) back in the 1800s when she misunderstood the bible. In fact, the bible states that God is against those who teach His children to "fly". I know the passage where she got mixed up and its easy to misunderstand if you haven't read the entire book in all three languages - English, Hebrew and Greek. So there's not going to be a "rapture". The devil - the ultimate poser - is going to come first and pretend to be Jesus to see how many morons will believe him. And I suspect when he shows "great signs of power", the atheists might believe. Hopefully, they won't and manage to save their souls anyway. You know, God gave many of His children the gift of "slumber", unable o get a grip on what really is and maybe thats why they don't believe. Let's hope so. But after satan takes away a third of Gods children, as is written, that's when the REAL Christ shows up, "all knee's bow to Him" and in the blink of an eye, we are turned into our spirit form. We don't exactly "meet Him in the air" like the rapture theorists believe..."air" is translated into "spirit" if you go and do your homework on it. So those atheists who didn't believe in the devil either are going to be in for a great surprise. Those who did will simply cease to exist, "Burned to ashes from within". All memory of them erased. So their disbelief is only important to them and I feel sorry for them because they just don't get it, but God gave them free will and told us not to judge them. So we shouldn't. But we can feel badly for them. That's our right, too. We can also pray for them, that they come to understanding before its too late...but still keep in mind that a third of Gods children are doomed, so there's not going to be anything you can do about them anyway. All in all, its between them and Father. Don't put your own soul into harms way trying to change the mind of someone who may be destined to die anyway. Talk...don't judge and when they say shut up, do it. They also need to learn that God said "Beware of those who come in My name" and to not judge all Christians by a bunch of a$$ holes who claim to be from God, too. So they're in for a great surprise as well as you are for believing in a rapture theory. All in all, God Bless everyone here - whether you want it or not. ;) Night.
