As for the discoloration, try some cleaning solution and a brass brush. That works for me on some of my stuff.

Good luck and safe shooting

I have never heard about this being a regular issue. What exactly does it look like, and where is it? If you are worried about it, take it to a gunsmith and have the barrell checked out. Otherwise, discoloration on the outside of the barrell shouldn't be a problem. I have a Sigma in .40 and it is a good shooter. Takes a little getting used to the trigger pull, but if the barrell is in good shape, should be rather accurate.

Cleaning solution and a brush would be my guess too as someone else mentiond.

If that does not work try some Flitz

You can find it (should be able to) at a gun shop. If not go to a hardware store.

If that does not work, I will be an eye sore, but the gun will function as normal. I owned a Sigma a while ago and had no issue with the metal, but I did have an issue with it jamming. How has yours shot?

Good Luck

Not much info you gave. Is gun 'new' or 'used'? Have you shot it yet? Lots of guessing to be done here...... not enough info to give you an answer. You don't mention what the discoloration looks like....

I would think that this is NOT normal.
