As revealed in the books of Daniel and Revelation, Government and the Church have an agenda to unite. There are 5 out of 9 Supreme court judges now that are Catholic. There is a relentless seemingly harmless agenda to get the 10 Commandments posted in the courts. Now it all sounds harmless and patriotic, and I agree that the last 6 (civil) commandments should be legally enforced, but what about the 1st 4 that are moral in nature? If the court is able to promote then enforce the 10 Commandment Law, then what happens to our liberty of free exercise of religion and Worshiping to the dictates of our own concience?

Revelation 13:11-16 Speaks about a Nation that will enforce religious law in the time of the end to the point of the issuance of a death decree.

Its purpose is to draw attention to the Ten Commandments as the basis for the laws in the nation.

Do those who argue that the Ten Commandments are longer in force really believe that it is ok to kill, commit adultery, steal etc.? What kind of reasoning is that?

There's a Ten Commandments Day?

Well, if such a thing exists, I believe it exists for the purpose of pandering to a constituency to cover up an inability to solve governmental problems.

Who knows since Christians are not bound by the ten commandments anyway. Those commandments were given to the Israelites who were NOT Christian. Jesus was the end of the law when he died for our sins.
Of course it is not ok to sin. Jesus said we are to follow only two commandments
1. Love God with your whole heart and soul.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
If we followed those two perfectly there would be no need for any others.

Sweetie, I grew up in a mainstream protestant church, majored in religion, and attended seminary, and I have NEVER heard of Ten Commandments Day ... in any month.

Perhaps it's the offspring of some particular denomination.

Oddly enough, the website associated with this "commemoration" seems to be also associated with the 7th-day adventists. Seeing your screen-name and that together makes me think I've been had.
