Sometimes I feel that Our Lady is more "approachable" than Christ. It's something that I struggle with. Of course, God is the object of our worship, and even our lesser devotion to Mary is ultimately directed to him.

I am not Catholic, but I feel it is worng. It is not through the Virgin Mary that I am saved by grace. The Virgin Mary did not die for me, Jesus did. I think it is wrong to worship her. All she did was give birth and raise Him, she is not the one who performed the miracles and saved thousands.

No. I for one admire her greatly. She was the first Christian and the only woman in all of the world created solely to be the deliverer of God Incarnate.
It is wrong to feel a sence of reverance toward Mary or any one more than you do toward the God of all.
However, there are times that I feel emotionaly connected to friends and family and the thought of God does not come into my mind.
This is not wrong. It is human nature for our attention to be divided. It is only sinful when we allow these divisions to stand in the way of doing the will of God.

Mary is what she is BECAUSE of Jesus, not in spite of Him. Therefore, if you are feeling "closer" to Mary, you are, by extension, becoming closer to Jesus as well.
Mary leads to Jesus, "Do whatever He tells you to do."
