You could start with the Belief-o-Matic quiz:
http://129.33.230.60/story/76/story_7665_1.html
It matches you up with a variety of religions and philosophies based on your answers, with write-ups for each one. That way you'll at least have some idea of whether your "core" beliefs really match up with Catholicism.
Best of luck to you on your path.

How can all religions be true if they contradict each other. Think about it....Christians think Jesus was the Messiah....Muslims think he was a prophet, etc. How can they both be true? Just because people believe the sky is purple, green or orange, doesn't mean that it's not blue.
I think you really need to work on having a relationship w/God. It seems like you are going through the motions w/Catholicism but still have a faith in God/Christ. I'm not sure..but that's what you seem to be saying.
You may want to look into a non-denominational church or a Baptist Church. These do not put emphasize on traditions, but on getting to know God like a best friend. Pray, read the Bible and go from there.

My recommendation... separate yourself from Catholicism for a bit. Just sit down, and pray... not specifically to the "God of Catholicism" as you have been taught, but to the God in your heart... the one you feel because you know he exists. He may or may not be God, as Catholics perceive him to be... they could well have gotten some details wrong.
Think of Catholicism as an introduction to God. They showed you God exists, they showed you divine power and purpose... now that you've "met" God, you can persue him... or her, depending on how you view God, because God really is neither male nor female, but has aspects of both. You can persue him/her directly, personally. S/he is friendly, kind, loving, forgiving, and if you ask him/her to guide you, s/he will.
Don't be afraid to search, to learn, to seek the truth.
All religions cannot be perfectly true, as an above answerer stated, granted, since there are disagreements in such things as, did Jesus exist, and if so, what was his role precisely... prophet or God. But ultimately... that isn't as important, to me, at least, as the nature of God. Whether God sent his son or a prophet to guide/teach us doesn't matter quite as much as the fact that God sent someone to guide/teach us.
So, while the details are different between religions, they may have each discovered an aspect of God. Like, at work you could be very formal, and at a party you can be wild and crazy... and still be the same person... the people at work and the people at the party, if they met, could easily argue over your personality. They're Both right... because you aren't some 2 dimensional being. You can be Both formal and wild. God can be Both merciful and just. Just depends on who you are with, and the situation. So, he may be different with you than you expect... because he will be with you the part of his personality that most works with you.
My thoughts on the matter anyway, hope this helps! I've been soul searching for ages now, and these are my thoughts/conclusions on the matter. Simplified, of course, so e-mail me if you want the full version, but this gives you the general idea.

Check out Contemplative or Mystical Christianity. Read New Seeds of Contemplation Thomas Merton and Open Mind, Open Heart by Thomas Keating and or get a spiritual adviser. There's a good website on line which will give you names of spiritual directors in your area. A good spiritual director, no matter their denomination, will help you through the murk in your own way. I know. I'm an ex-fundy who has really been going through it since I began questioning so much the church had told me was truth. Good luck on this exciting new journey.

The Unitarian-Universalist Church may be a good place to start. They have no specific beliefs you need to adhere to in order to belong. There are theists, agnostics, christians, buddhists (my minister is buddhist), muslims, jews, and lots others including New Age Pagans. There is a course offered by the UU Church called "Building Your Own Theology" which might be very helpful to you.

Look inside yourself to learn which religion you belong to.
You will know once you stop feeling scared.
The whole God should be feared thing really peeves me off.
Blessed Be

You have to prepare yourself for this - truth - there is no God.
If there is, search for the evidence and proof for it...
Or even for the 'logic' there is one?
It is not religion that matters - but the spiritual teachings.
You can try..
www.figu.org (English Discussion Forum)
You simply follow the trail of where the information takes you... and it is not to any religion....

Go to the religion section of your local library, and after learning about various religions, read websites on them and visit their churches or whatever they call them.

You are more than welcome to attend a Seventh-day Adventist Church. Services are held every Sabbath(Saturday). Sabbath school begins at 9:30am and worship begins at 11:00am. Adventists are Christians.

first of all, you're not doing anything wrong. just subscribe to the religion of open-mindedness. don't sit and try to confine yourself to a single system, because you can't know which, if any, is correct--or if all of them are somehow correct.
