My mother has had RSD in her mouth for 7 years due to a botched tooth extraction and it seems to be spreading and worsening. If so, what were the best treatment methods for this particular area of the body?

I have a friend who has fully body RSD/CRPS internal and external. IV infusions (such as ketamine) is one option that may help with the RSD, I would suggest talking to a her pain management doctor though for the best treatment options. Good luck!

Yes RSD can start anywhere in the body (but never met anyone had it start from a problem in the mouth before) but as far as how to treat that specific area that is hard to say because of the complexities that can often come with having RSD. The link http://www.rsd.org may have some additional info on treatments that could help til your mom can talk to her doctor about additional options to help ease the pain.
