There are many reasons for throat discomfort. Allergies or sinus drainage is only a couple of the causes. One other common reason for throat discomfort is acid reflux from the esophagus. The acid can cause a constant burn or soreness in throat or give you the feeling of something stuck in it. You should go back to your medical provider and insist on further investigation. If not satisfied with answer go to a different medical provider. In the meantime try over the counter antihistamines and antacids and elevate head of bed on 3-4 inch blocks or sleep with a bed wedge of @ least 4 inches to see if it improves. Always report to your medical providers any self treatment you do and what results you got with it.

This is a very good reason for getting to a clinic or the doctor as soon as possible. If the throat hurts, it could be tonsils . Their swelling could be the cause of difficult breathing. Have them checked out immediately. Don't mess with a chronic sore throat.

you might have a sinus infection. i get those all the time. my throat always hurts because of the snot draining down the back of my throat. (sorry if you're squeamish.) and it gets really hard to breathe for me, too. you would need antibiotics. either way-- you need medical attention. go to a walk-in clinic.

you got a lot of possibilities on this board-- go to www.mayoclinic.com to look at some symptoms for certain illnesses. i guarantee its 100% legitimate.

You could have strep throat. Asthma is mucus in the lungs and airways and if your chest feels tight yes it could be. People with allergies can have asthma attacks when their allergies get to be really bad.

Strep if it spreads down to your stomach and bloodstream can be very serious and turn into sepsis. Sounds like you are long overdue for antibiotics. Don't wait. Had any fever? Rush if you do.

Yeah sounds like allergies or asthma and yeah go to a doctor. Only they can and should tell what you have for certain. And only a doctor can legally and ethically help you. I can only offer an opinion. Please go to a doctor.

could be sinus drainage. . I know for me, I have to gargle with warm salt water in the morning and it gets all the phlegm out. .you may want to try that because it also gits rid of a sore throat.
