"Woe to you, Oh Earth and Sea, for the Devil sends the
beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short...
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the
beast for it is a human number, its number is Six hundred and
sixty six."...
I LEFT ALONE... MY MIND WAS BLANK... I NEEDED TIME TO THINK TO GET THE MEMORIES FROM MY MIND...

I was born June 6 around 6pm so it bothers me that people don't like three sixes.
My house number also has 3 666's.
Anyways..
666 is the number of the antichrist, the end times figure who will arise with the purpose of opposing God and God's people. 666 is the gamatria of the name of the antichrist.
In Greek and Hebrew there are no numeric characters. There are only alpha characters. For example, the letters a, b, c, d, e, f, etc. are alpha characters. The numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, etc., are numeric characters. They are different -- except for the letter "o" and the number "0". When the Greeks wanted to write a number, they used letters for numbers. The Greek letter "alpha" had the numeric equivalent of 1. The next letter "beta" has the numeric equivalent of 2, and so on. (CARM has a chart of the Hebrew and Greek numeric equivalents if you are interested in more information.)
Therefore, whenever a word in Greek is written, because the letters are also numbers, every word has a numeric value. This numeric value is called a gematria. The Greek word for Jesus (IhsouV) has a mathematical equivalent of 888. Also, the Greek word for fish is 1224.
What the Bible is saying is that the future antichrist will have a name that when it is written in Greek, its numeric equivalent will be 666.

The mark of the beast (666) come from bible prophecy. Revelation 13:18-"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understnding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six--666.
Bible prophecy has told us the Antichrist beast has a man at its head. That man is the one who speaks for it--the Pope. The bible says his number is 666. The Latin alphabet is used by the Church and Rome. Every person's name also had a number because of the Roman alphabet having numerical value. God is simply telling us it is the number of a man, and his number adds up to 666.
April 18, 1915, a question was tossed at the Roman Catholic weekly magazine: "What are the letters inscribed in the Pope's crown and what do they signify if anything?" The magazine itself replied 'The letters inscribed in the Pope's miter are these: VICARIOUS FILII DEL which is Latin for Vicar of the Son of God."
VICARIOUS FILII DEL is one of the most exalted titles of the Roman pontiff and is the official name of the Pope. Computing the value of the Roman Numerals, we discovered an amazing fact:
V.........5 F.....0 D....500
I...........1 I.......1 E.........0
C....100 L....50 I..........1
A.........0 I........1 -------------
R.........0 I........1 501
I...........1 -----------
U.........5 53
S.........0
--------------
112
If you add up the numerical value, you'll find out Vicarious= 112, Filii=53, Dei=501 and it equals the nubers 666. The Pope has 4 more names in Latin--official titles given in Catholic literature--every one of them add up to 666; he has three names in Greek, two names in Hebrew, all adding up to 666.
Here in Greek and hebrew transliterations are other names or titles of the Pope.

One of the early names for the Pope was Pontifex Maximus. This in Latin means Supreme Pontifex. The Pope has had a number of title down through the centuries. In other words, the Pope is the Antichrist and the mark--666--is that of the beast which is the Antichrist. Revelation 14:9-10, " And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and recieve his mark in his forehead, or his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb." Superstition. 666 is the beast logo. But the number itself isn't evil. God created us on the 6th day. God said we were good.
But I won't take the beast logo in the back of my forhead or hand nor bow to the beast. And I am suspicious if a see 666 or 18 or FFF or 999, etc... Turn 999 upside down & you get 666. And once the DOL tried to give me a license plate with GOG 666 on it. (The first one had the GOG, the second offer had the 666.) But I was too superstitious at that time to take one of those plates. My husband yelled at me for it & put it on my car. But I took it back off the car & returned it & got a better plate that didn't have a hidden message.
In Revelation, God says that people who take the 666 mark &/or bow to the beast suffer awful conscequences. You can find this in Revelation14:10.

The number 666 is thought to be the Number of the Beast, so people once thought that the year 666 was to be the year of the advent of the Antichrist
The fear of the number 666 is known as hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia.
The Number of the Beast is a concept from the Book of Revelation of the New Testament of the Christian Bible. The Number is 666 in modern biblical text, although 616 and 665 appear instead in at least one ancient source. This topic is a source of contention for many church groups and theologians.[1] Some scholars contend that the number is a code for the Roman Emperor Nero.[2][3]
One interpretation is that 666 encodes the letters of someone’s name or title, identifying the Antichrist.
[edit] Nero
Scholars who believe that the Book of Revelation refers to historical people and events argue that the number represents Nero. In Hebrew gematria, every letter has a corresponding number. Summing these numbers gives a numeric value to a word or name. In Hebrew, "Nero Caesar" is spelled “נרון קסר”, pronounced "Neron Qe[i]sar". Adding the corresponding values yields 666, as shown:
Resh Samekh Qoph Nun Waw Resh Nun TOTAL
200 60 100 50 6 200 50 666
Removing the terminal נ (written as ן) makes the name "Nero" rather than "Neron", and makes the numeric value 616, which may explain that variation.
Resh Samekh Qoph Waw Resh Nun TOTAL
200 60 100 6 200 50 616
The hypothesis that 666 is a code for a Roman emperor seems to have historical support. The emperors were noted for their oppression of both Jews and Christians. Both communities were known to use numerology, codes and symbols (such as the Ichthys) when living under Roman rule to avoid persecution.
[edit] Caligula
David Parker, professor of New Testament Textual Criticism and Paleography at the University of Birmingham said that the correct number, 616, refers to the emperor Caligula[17]. Caligula's attempt to erect his statue in the Temple in Jerusalem may have inspired the author of Revelation to speak against the Roman Emperor.[citation needed] In Hebrew, Gaius Caligula Caesar is גסקלגסקסר (gsqlgs qsr). Adding the values yields 616.
Resh Samekh Qoph Samekh Gimel Lamed Qoph Samekh Gimel TOTAL
200 60 100 60 3 30 100 60 3 616
In Greek, "Gaios Kaisar" also yields 616.

[edit] Domitian
The German Protestant theologian Ethelbert Stauffer, arguing that gematria had been the most popular form of numerology not only among Jews but also in the Graeco-Roman world (Pergamon, Pompeii)[18], conceived a Greek gematrical procedure to explain the number 666. Judging from the precise information that the Book of Revelation gives about the person behind the number 666[19], Stauffer concluded that the "beast" can in general only refer to a Roman emperor and argued that this Emperor must be Domitian, because he had reigned during the proposed time of origin of the Apocalypse and supposedly was called "The Beast" as a "secret derisive nickname" by Romans, Greek, Christians and Jews.[20] Stauffer computed the Number of the Beast using the short form of Domitian's five titles and names A KAI ΔOMET ΣEB ΓE, as derived from the abbreviations on coins and inscriptions.[21] Domitian's official title in Latin was Imperator Caesar Domitianus Augustus Germanicus. This was rendered as Autokrator Kaisar Dometianos Sebastos Germanikos for his Greek-speaking subjects. And in turn, for their coins, this abbreviated to A.KAI.DOMET.SEB.GE which totals 666 in Greek Gematria.
Α Κ Α Ι Δ Ο M Ε Τ Σ Ε Β Γ E TOTAL
1 20 1 10 4 70 40 5 300 200 5 2 3 5 666
Robert Graves suggested that DCLXVI, 666 in Roman numerals, is an abbreviation for the Latin sentence “Domitianus Caesar Legatos Xti Violenter Interfecit”, or “The Emperor Domitian violently killed the envoys of Christ”.[22]
[edit] Papacy
Some Protestant Bible commentators have equated the "beast" of Revelation chapter 13 with the Papacy.[23] To this end, the letters of a title of the Pope, accepted as authentic from 8th - 16th century, Vicarius Filii Dei (Vicar of The Son of God), are summed to total 666 in Roman numerals. The earliest extant record of a Protestant writer on this subject is that of Professor Andreas Helwig in 1612 in his work Antichristus Romanus. The title was contained in the Donation of Constantine a forged document of Emperor Constantine the Great, by which large privileges and rich possessions were conferred on the pope and the Roman Church.[24] Although occasionally found in Catholic publications as late as the 19th century,[25] today the title is repudiated by the Vatican.

666 = 6th Trump 6th Seal 6th Vial That is when the False Messiah will show up. The Antichrist. Will you know the difference between the True Christ, and the False Christ ? Many will whore after the False Christ, thinking he is the True Christ, The Antichrist will look like Jesus and do wonders from heaven. Like snapping his fingers and lightning coming down. The only way you will know the False Messiah from the True Messiah is to seal your mind with the Truth of the Word of God.

7 is the heavenly number because of the 4 elements (earth, fire, wind, water) and the number three is often associated with heaven by many religions because there are three forms of god (according to christianity, father, son, and holy spirit) 3+4=7. 6 is close to 7 but not quite which is why it is satan.
fun fact however: 6 according to the ancient greeks was considered a mathematical perfect number because all of its divisibles besides itself when added together or multiplied equals 6. 1+2+3=6. 1x2x3=6
