Is it real? Yes, I know the car

Why not sell it at Barrett Jackson?
8% commission of 200,000 is $16,000 vs $90 at Ebay and if it doesn't sell, I wouldn't be surprised to see it there next month.

Like any car, the value is determined by the appeal to a specific buyer. If this is a true Boss 429 in very good condition that has matching numbers, it could very easily demand a price in the low $100k's.

With the 1970 Boss 429, there were only 500 produced. Obviously, between race versions that saw the crusher or conversion to another racer, and street versions that saw normal accident attrition, you're probably down to less than 300 examples of this car.

But if, as the owner claims, the $200,000 Buy-it-Now price is reasonable per Barrett-Jackson, then why not sell it there?

Oh, and I believe the color is "Grabber Blue". It looks much better in person.

As far as shoving cubic inches into a Mustang? yes. As far as limited production? yes. As far as cool factor? hell yeah. I'm not 100% on the looks becuase the hood scoop is too big for me. Definately a cool car, but not the best looker IMO in the Mustang family. The lawman is a bad beast though any way you look at it.

I really like that mustang, I wish I could afford to buy cars like that. Unfortunately, all the cars I buy have to be ones I can use as daily drivers.

i have to agree with the first guy, on both points, classics do definitely rule, but that price is too high. but it's nice, i guess if you have the money to spend and are willing to do so, then go for it.

Classics rule. The price is way too high though.

Too much money; the color is "different" (being kind).
