Why is it a sin to have nasty thoughts about sex but than why is it not a sin to have sex with your wife.Also if god forgives sins, does that mean I can live it up have pre merital sex, drink like there is no tomorrow and so on? Please be serious.

Im not catholic but I believe most Christians will have the same belief as I do. God intended sex to be between a husband and a wife. Everyone thinks nasty thoughts every now and then (most guys every single day, its something we are hard wired to do, think about sex) but its our decision if we can overcome that male testosterone and wait for the one god chose for us.

He does forgive sin however there is a difference between a screw up and continuisly doing it. He knows your heart and if you really loved him you would be trying your best not to do it. He gets that.

I know I face mental challenges all day (lust, thinking of naked women...etc) and its hard sometimes to try to think past it. It cant be done all the time, but if you do your best its possible

Not necessarily. You can commit sin and then ask God for forgiveness. However, if your repentance is insincere, God is not going to forgive you. Thus, you can't just "live it up". God is not a fool.

Jesus stated in Matthew 5:28 that a person can commit sins of sexual impurity even in his thoughts: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." The same is true of fornication (premarital sex). Fornication is a grave (mortal) sin. Paul says, "Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness . . . and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Gal. 5:19-21). This is a severe teaching. It is one many unmarried people find hard to accept, but it is the clear teaching of Scripture, and we must hold to it.

Marriage is for family. Therefore, sex was intended for marriage.

Also, you cannot live your life in sin with a plan to repent at the end. Who knows when you'll go. It could be at any moment, and then it will be too late. Plus, even though your sins may be forgiven, you'll have to still endure the temporal punishment from sin in Purgatory.

Also, to the first poster, if you are Catholic you shouldn't be using condoms. Read up on the Theology of the Body. Condoms and contraceptives are a no-no for Catholics as well. (NFP only, which is 99% percent effective when used correctly)

Sex in marriage isn't sinful because that's exactly how God made it. It's supposed to be an act that is reproductive and pleasurable between the two partners, so nothing nasty is going on--just sex the way it was made to be.

And no, you shouldn't sin all you want and just be sorry later, because that shows you really don't care. The sacrament of marriage (and waiting for it) isn't a harsh rule inflicted on by God. It's meant to protect us from unnecessary hurt, to help us have the best sex life ever, with a spouse.

Because unless you are a blood relative to your wife, you are suppose to multiply (according to the Church) The forgiveness of sins was a lucrative business for the monks and early Church. But, you had to go and sin no more, also be really sorry you did them before you could be forgiven. Again, this is what the Church decreed, not God per say.

it's not a sin to have nasty thoughts. it's a sin to turn them into a wish or an act. it's kind of a "crossing the line" thing.

and yes, God forgives sins. but you do have to be truly sorry for them.

The condition for forgiveness is repentance. In other words, you have to recognize that what you are doing is wrong, and make a sincere resolution not to do it again. If you keep on sinning without making any effort to please God and change your ways, you are on a very dangerous path.

God said "It is not good for man to be alone." And then he made Eve. Jesus said that the two (man and wife) become one flesh. Sex is honored by God, but only in the (holy and undefiled) marriage bed.

No, you cannot go on sinning and be saved. John said, he who says he loves or knows the Lord and keeps on sinning is a liar and the truth is not in him. How can you say you are saved (born again) and continually sin?

It's possible to be caught up in a sin and desire to be freed. It's another thing to willfully sin and think God will overlook it.

The Bible tells us that Jesus entered once into the Holy Place, ONCE FOR ALL, obtaining eternal redemption.


Hebrews 9

27And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
