I have an old friend of mine who we had words and things got physical. He almost killed me and I did hurt him too. I have forgiven him for what he has done but he stated he would never forgive me. If he does not ever forgive me what will that do in the eyes of God. Will I still have to face that on my judgement day?

OK, I will add some details. I am a Christian, and I did ask the Lord to fogive me for what I did. I also asked this other man to forgive me too. We got into a fight and I pressed charges on him. He told me about something he did with his niece that I did not believe so in spite I called her and asked her. He stated I ruined his life and he has not nor ever will he forgive me. I have repented to God the Father and asked this man to forgive me. That is all I can do.

No you will not have to face that because you ask Jesus to for give you, right? well when you ask for forgivness it is throwed into a lake and forgotten about. And you forgave him right? God also has forgiving you and has forgotton about it he only looks at what you are doing now. Are you still serving him reading your Bible every day, praying and following him are you telling people about him. And what he has done for you and me and every one. Then you are headed in thre right track and I say to you god Bless you and your family

No, you have already forgiven him, you did your part through the grace of our Lord.

Christ told us to turn the other cheek; Matthew 5:39

Obviously, the latter does not mean we are to be a doormat.
Turning the other cheek is realizing our sin and asking for forgiveness.
You have already performed the above when you told your old friend how you feel and desire forgiveness.

You dont need to earn forgiveness, you only need to ask with a contrite heart.

Move on with your life, this matter is over.

Hopefully, in time your old friend will have the same view as you.

God bless'

we stand alone before God. if you have forgiven your friend then you have done all that is in your power. you can continue to pray that God softens his heart and to allow you to be reconciled.

just a thought, but have you actually asked for his forgiveness? many times we will forgive others, but forget to ask for forgiveness in return...

No, I don't think so. God said in the Lord's prayer "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors and lead us not to temptation but deliver us for evil for thy is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen!" God forgave us our sins and we should do that. If your friend doesn't want to forgive you then leave it to the Lord.

Well you said you forgave him, but in doing so, did you take full responsibility for your part in what happened? If you did, and if you repented and confessed that to God, then why wouldn't God forgive you?

Whatever that does in God's eyes is between God and this man. You were big enough and loving enough to forgive him and that is all God asks of you.

If you are a Christian, God has forgiven you for your sins. you will not face judgement.

if you are NOT a Christian, then that one incident is the least of your worries

He who does not love his brother does not love the father. If you have forgiven and repented for your sins then you love your brother. If he does not love you back then he has no love for our father.
