i want to get it for the blue ray but is the blue ray pretty good? am thinkking about getting the $399 version is that one good??

Yes. The quality of the in-built blu-ray player is excellent. Better than most lower end stand alone blu-ray players.
It also has many features such as gaming abilities and media centre capabilities which you dont get with a stand alone player.
Note To guy Below Me. The Blu-Ray player is a major advantage. More disk space means better games, better graphics and no need to change disks. HD Optical Disks are the future. Why stick to DVD's.
(Blu-Ray 50GB ( possibile to increase to >100GB compared to DVD 8.6GB max). Fair enough the 360 has more games as it has been available an extra year and a half but you dont need to go trashing other consoles. They all have their up's and downs.

Yes. It is no longer the cheapest Blu-ray available but it is high quality. BTW it also has internet capabilities so thats a bonus. And it can also play games in HD (the Wii and Xbox dont do that). And it has a motion sensor control. In conclusion it is more than a blu-ray.
The 399 is good if your not going to play that many games. The difference is that it has 20gb for games while the other version has 80. But for blu-ray it is good

Smart choice. PS3 is not only a great gaming system, but an amazing multimedia center, you'll be able to play a lot of media on it. 40GB version isn't good for those, who love PS2 games and have a lot of Super Audio CDs (SACD). Apart from that - all versions are the same. Enjoy and happy holidays!

HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE SAY THAT XBOX 360 IS BETTER!! I HAD IT FOR 4 MONTHS AND THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
-MY CONSOLE WAS HIT WITH 'THE RING OF DEATH' 2 TIMES, WHICH MENT I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO XBOX TWICE.
-GAMES ARE BORING. HALO 3 IS BASICLY THE SAME AS HALO 1 AND 1 ONLY WITH MORE STAGES.
-CONTROLERS A TOO BIG AND CHUNCKY.
-YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR BLOODY ONLINE GAMING, WHICH IS JUST A HUGE RIP OFF.
-GRAPHICS ARE HARDLY BETTER THAN THE FIRST XBOX
-360 HAS NO HDMI OUTPUT, SO THE PICTURE LOOKS LIKE BALLS
THE ONLY THING THAT SOLVED MY PROBLEMS WAS THE TRADE IN AT EB GAMES FOR A PS3. I WOULD EVEN PREFER A WII OVER THE **** BOX THAT IS THE 360

i recommend getting a ps3......
the blu ray is so good and if you have a hd tv it makes it look better especially if it is 1080p....
and i think if you buy any blu ray player you get a blu ray disk/movie for free.......
wait couple months when the new games hit the market........
then the ps3 will be good

No dont!!!! they suck, they only have like 40 games, the xbox has like 250 plus call of duty 4, HALO 3, and every other game that freakn PWNS!!! who cares about the blu ray player!! plz adopt a 360 today.
