I'm trying to edit a WordPad document with some Flight Simulator X configurations in it, and when I go to save it, it says "Access to..... was denied."

WTF, I AM the administrator to the system. Is it a read-only or what?

Could be read-only. Could be temporarily read-only because another application has it open. (Or WordPad has it open twice.)

If you're using Vista and the file is in a subdirectory of c:\program files, there's special protection going on there that gives you less than Administrator permissions even though you're an administrator. I was just introduced to this and don't know more than that, yet. Make a copy of the WordPad shortcut. Get properties of the copy, Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator. Run WordPad using that shortcut and try again.
