More like telling you how the special effects in a movie work, making it look believable.
If you learn the truth (what REALLY goes on 'behind the scenes') how does this ruin a movie?

How can anyone look at the science field and not believe in a higher power? If we were so many miles closer to the sun we would fry, if we were any farther away we would freeze. There is the perfect mixture of gaseous elements in our atmosphere for us to survive. Answer me this...If the universe is everything, but the universe is expanding, then what is it expanding into? Nothing...who else but God can make something out of nothing?

That quote is not even close to the truth. That is what makes Flanders so funny. Science does not know how it ends and in fact beginning/end thinking may not even be scientific.

No, but people who THINK they understand all of science can be like that.
But Ned's a nice guy.

No, plus Ned Flanders is a fictional character that is overly obsessed with his religion.

Actually, I do. Weird huh?
And I like science too. It did kind of take the wonder out of life.
How far do we have to dissect it in order to find the beauty and its healing power?
Science may have saved lives, but industrialism, the mean half of science, has ruined this planet.

i dont agree with a character created by non believers specifically to ridicule Christians. no true Christian is like that
wanna know how it ends? don't ask science, since science is observation and you cant observe the end that hasnt happened yet
the book of Revelation is prophesy and CAN tell you the end

he essentially says, ignorance is bliss, which i think is true most of the time. edit: I disagree that it ruins life. While it may reveal things that you might find upsetting or depressing even, we are designed to always be able to make ourselves feel better. chemicals in our brain are activated to make us feel good when we do certain things like, listen/play/make music or through bonds with friends or family or dancing or eating chocolate etc etc. In fact I think the more we know the better off we are in the long run, the more we understand ourselves and our world we might even be happier in the long run. There is a lot to live for.
