You know I'm torn on how to answer this. I've owned both and my dog "soul mate" was/is my Lucy who is a Corgi. She does get under foot sometimes but all dogs do. I will point out a few things about the Corgi that I've read and also experienced. They're very loyal. When you're home they'll be up your you know what 24/7, so if you like that it's good. When you're not home they'll be terribly sad and howl. When I go out of town Lucy won't even eat much and lays at the door waiting the whole time. She is fiercely loyal to the kids so when we hollar at them she does bark and get on to us. She will get in between us and the kids if she thinks that we're at all angry at them because she won't have any of that! We just put her in another room or tell her to quiet down. When I nap she lays at the end of the bed and watches the doors and windows so she's a very good guard dog as well. I do have to put her on a leash around people and warn them not to run up to me because yeah she'll eat their face so that may be something you might not like. I would like to point out that when I'm sick she will "hold" onto me until I get to feeling better. She truly is my best friend in every sence of the word.
Beagles are great with kids but not known to be as protective and guard them so if you have kids I'd go for the Corgi.
Beagles are yippy dogs and very fun loving. They're both high energy and fun loving dogs.
Corgi lifespans are 12-15 years and I'm not sure what the beagle lifespans are. Corgis do shed a LOT if you don't brush them once a week so keep that in mind. Beagles are great for outside but I don't think Corgis do as well outside since they're so sociable. They really do need that bond with someone.
Hope that helps! Maybe I didn't make the decision so hard for you :) I'll never own another dog after my Lucy goes. If I ever do it'll be a Corgi 100%.
Sorry I wanted to add on to the whole dog breed to the kids mix. If your children are small then go for the beagle. If they're over 7 or so go for the Corgi since they have a tendency to nip at the heels of small children who may get rough with them but they won't be seriously hurt even if the dog does. My girls were 3 and 4 when I got my Lucy and she nipped at them a couple of times but never even broke the skin. Well never leave a child unattended with any dog of any breed if they're under 7 that is. Ok I'm rambling so I think I'm done haha.

I would get a corgi while beagles are really cute they are hounds and howl and bay (that loud long whining bark) Corgis are herding dogs so that is also something to consider my advice is to do a lot of research before you buy either breed you should adopt from a shelter or from a rescue society where you can get pure breeds don't buy from pet stores most puppy's come from puppy mills where they mistreat puppy's animals in shelters need homes too. Older dogs are also great because you don't have to worry about training them.
GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU FIND THE DOG FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both can be playful and friendly.. (although beagles are easily distracted by smells).. Corgi's are herders, and will do well with a job to do..
In either case it depends on the individual animal, training, and socialization..

I would say a Corgi can be more playful (physically), but a Beagle is pretty friendly.

both are great dogs, but the downside of the corgi is that it can get mean when its older. the downside of the beagle would be because it is a hunting dog, its nose is always running so it might wonder off. so if you get a corgi, make sure he gets used to young kids and animals when he is young. and if you get a beagle (all around better than corgis :D ) you will need a fenced in yard. upside is, corgis live longer. and beagles are all around more friendlier and better companions with other people and animals. corgis tend to pick one person that they like.. beagles like everyone.

With all breed of dogs it depends a lot on the breeding. Generally if the parents are friendly so will the puppies. That said, if you socialize the dog properly, take them places, get them to meet nice people, etc. almost any dog will be friendly and playful.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/q7CMV
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

I've had Corgis and they are great, friendly, busy, happy little dogs. None of my dogs have gotten mean when they were older or nipped but they did have a tendency to herd. Mine had thick coats and needed a lot of brushing.

AND WELL THEY ARE PLAYFUL AND BEAGLES ARE HUNTING DOGS SO THEY ARE GOING TO HOWL AND BARK AT ANYTHING IN THE NIGHT BUT OVER ALL THEY BOTH ARE VERY PLAYFULL!
