Did they strech at all?

i got my first three tattoos when i was 18 and they don't exist anymore, i got them covered up. not because i regretted getting tattooed but because i was young and dumb and got poor quality tattoos becase i didn't do my research and educate myself. i think EVERYBODY should educate themselves before getting tattooed. they should relize that all tattoo artists are not talented and because it is something that is permanent it shouldn't be taken lightly, decisions shouldn't be made on a whim.

i now have really good tattoos and have plans for many more but will also go to a talented artist that i trust to permanently ink my body.

I got my first tattoo when I was 17 (I'm 20 now). It is a black rose on my hip, and although the black faded a bit, and you can't tell there was white, it still looks pretty good. I don't regret it at all and I think it was a great first tattoo.

After that one I think I got the rest after I turned 18..
Edit -- mine hasn't stretched at all, but If you lose/gain a lot of weight it might end up stretching or looking wierd..

I got my first tattoo at 17, a tribal band around my ankle. it still looks good and I don't regret it. I just regret the ones I got after that one. I have a huge one on my leg that has stretched but it still looks good. I've since had 2 removed... tattoo removal is the most horrific pain there is, I'd rather give birth again.
my best advice, don't go for something ultra-trendy and get it somewhere that's easly covered up with clothes.

I got my first tattoo at 16 (5yrs ago). So far it hasnt stretched because its on my shoulder blade, but because its in a spot that is usually uncovered, it gets alot of exposure to sunlight, making the ink fade. Since i have 2 more, lower back and a symbol on my rib cage. Because these are a bit smaller, and their location, I can easliy cover them up with out having to wear a t-shirt. The one on my rib cage will probably stretch if I fall pregnant, but you can only see them if I'm in swimmers.
I dont regret them because at that stage of my life thats who i was, someone who wanted a tat and at that time, thats the style I liked.Though, I would prefer the one on my shoulder somewhere different. I actually look at it and smile, thinking about how much I have changed since then. Its like a 'photogragh of you personality' if you get what i mean.
I would think about where you want it, what clothes you would like to wear. There could be some occasions where you would like to cover it up (weddings, nice photos (especially if they've faded )) if you do end up regreting it. Also alot of places wont employ you if there visible.
Dont forget to keep it out of the sun. The one on my shoulder blade has had to be redone twice and needs doing again. Its an expensive and sometimes painful habit. Once its healed, cover it with zinc if in the sun. Also get feed back from the place your getting it done. I've had some friends walk out with something completly different to what they've asked. Take a stencil if you can, and make aure they draw with pen and show you before they commence it. If you choice needs to be done free hand (without a stencil), have a look at some photos of past tats that they've done so you know your getting a professional. Make sure they open up the needles and instruments infront of you. They should be in a sterile packing. similar to what the doctors have on their syringes. Good Luck.
None of them have stretched yet. I doubt the one on my shoulder blade will. The one on my rib maybe if I fall pregnant. The one on my lower back is to the right, if I gained alot of weight it would.

I got my first tattoo at the age of 18 (that was 15 years ago) on my ankle. It hasn't faded much at all and it hasn't stretched, even with having 5 surgeries on that ankle (and having it swell, being in a cast 3 times and having pins and nylon surgically implanted).

I have no regrets and I am still getting tattooed.

well, i got my first tattoo in july. So ive only had it for a few months. But i loved it that day&i still love it now and i picked a design that has meaning. I also moisturize it every once in a while to keep the colors vibrant. But just really think about what you wanna get so u wont regret it later.

My dad got 2 when he was 17, they still look great, but like most colored tattoos, the color has faded slightly.
He also regrets getting one of them, but loves the other.

i got my first tattoo when i was 17. i have 7 tattoos so far and none of mine have stretched yet... they have faded but not stretched. the only way they will stretch is if you gain or lose large amounts of weight.... 5-10 pounds isnt gonna affect you.
