Amanda,
I have been so blessed in my lifetime. My wife and I allowed an older couple into our home to study the Bible with us about twenty years ago. They came once a week for several weeks and were always willing to answer questions and spend whatever time we needed sharing a wealth of information. He was an Elder of the Lord's Church. At the end of the Bible Study we decided it was time to become Christians and they took us to the church building and baptized us that evening. We have been faithful Christians since that time and I was a deacon for almost two years at the Church. Their influence has touched so many people in our community. All of their relatives and friends and their grandchildren's friends have all been attending church as a result of this man and his wife influencing others. One never knows what he/she can do with GOD! Have a wonderful New Year!
Thank You,
Eds

Dr. Paul Farmer, a Harvard doctor who co-founded Partnes in Health, an organization that brings medical care to AIDS and TB sufferers in the poorest and most dangerous parts of the world, including Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho and Russia. I recommend Tracey Kidder's "Mountains Beyond Mountains," which tells of Dr. Farmer's work.

King Wen of Zhou who compiled and wrote the 1st fact on the I Ching. This e book has had a profund impression on China, with the two important philosophies Confucianism and Taoism having their foundation in this artwork. Tai Chi is immediately with regard to the I Ching, and Kung Fu to boot to a lesser quantity. Jung used the I Ching in his artwork to boot, or maybe the flag of Korea shows quite many of the I Ching trigrams.

Dr. Ellery Schempp.
He's still alive. I met him at a talk on Constitution Day. He wrote a 1968 doctoral thesis that was way ahead of technology, later leading to the development of the MRI, which he worked on.
As a teen in Pennsylvania, he was the person to file a lawsuit against organized school prayer because he saw it was upsetting his Jewish and Roman Catholic friends.
The case decided by the Supreme Court removing organized prayer from school is Abington vs. Schempp. Madalyn Murray O'Hair claimed credit and Ellery did not care. He was busy studying at Tufts and Brown universities.
Close second: Dr. Barbara Forrest of SELU, whose testimony in the Dover Panda Trial destroyed the creationists and left the defense in shambles. She's a longtime friend.
Of course, every day my parents' influence is felt and acted upon.

I know lots of people say this, but my Mother. She has showed strength while helping my dad with M.S., she went back to school to get a better job (she's a shrink:), and in my opinion did her very best at raising my sister and I. Most people say they don't want to grow up and be like their mother or father, but I think if I can even be half the mother and wife she is, I'll have it made!

An old boss of mine.
I knew he was a Christian, but he never tried to "convert" me.
He simply walked the talk and focused on me being the best I could be. He encouraged me to improve in many ways. To continue my education at night, find ways to improve on the job, increase my responsibility, be a better husband to my wife.
I was able to improve my life in many ways, even after he moved on. I did not give my life to Christ for many years after knowing him, but his influence, showed me what a real Christian lived like.
My current pastor is also a great influence. He practices what he preaches. A great man of God.

Salvatore. My old boss, from Brooklyn. He taught me how to manage people and influence peers. He is now vice president of a multi-billion dollar corporation. He has taught me more about networking with people and getting results from others than anyone I have ever met.
