I heard some passages in The Bible saying that its sin to eat the blood of the animal and im wondering if you cook it does it burn away the blood or something? I have been eating sushi and it is not bloody, even if its not cooked... So is it a sin to eat sushi because it has blood or is it drained enough even though its not cooked.... Is there a requirement to actually cook the animal, does cooking it even burn away the blood?
Thanks..

Acts 15:29 "You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell."
Its in the New Testament too..

Are you Christian or Jewish? If you are Jewish, then you need to worry about this because the only relationship you have with God is through your people as a whole and through the covenants that were established by Abraham and Moses. If you are Christian, then God has told you that there is no food that is forbidden. Although, at the time he was alluding to the fact that everyone on earth was acceptable to God through Christ, he used a vision about all kinds of unclean animals that Peter or Paul (forget which) was supposed to eat. If he doesn't care about nationality or race or anything, does he care about food?

No it is not a sin to eat raw fish. As long as the fish has scales. We are told not to eat fish with skin. It is ok to eat fish with scales. In reference to blood, it means to drain the blood off of animals and eat the blood. Like in the Norwegian culture, they would drain the blood off of animals, cook it and eat it. It is call Krub. That is where sin is called, by eating the blood off of dead cows, pigs and etc. It is not done too much , now days, but as a child , I was fed, Krub and it was gross and also considered sin. I can still see my Father preparing the blood sausage, for us to eat. This is what is meant, by sin. Still done today.

The Bible claiming that the consumption of certain foods as sin had nothing to do with the "word of God." It was only the culture of the people who wrote it. By declaring not following their specific culture as sinning, the early Biblical writers gained support against their enemies by further identifying them as sinners. So you should be okay with sushi.

nooo... the raw meat in the sushi, oh, every raw meat whether it will be cooked or eat raw already have the blood removed (i dunno how, mybe they press it or wash it with water) before it's cooked, until only the meat left. if the blood is not washed, it will stain the sushi rice anyway, and i lose my appetite. i'm not watching saw or happy tree friends series!
your sushi would never be the same with the blood.

I don't believe it is a sin to eat raw fish. God gave us animals to supply our body's needs and for entertainment and pleasure. I am wondering, where did you hear those passages? Y would it be a sin?

Are you Jewish?
Christians don't follow all of Leviticus and now we have science to tell us what is safe to eat and what isn't. Back then, the religious instruction would have helped the whole community stay healthy.

I doubt that any reasonable god would consider raw fish a sin.
Cooking just cooks the blood, it is still there.

No, especially since the dietary requirements for the early Hebrews don't apply to modern Christians.
