I have researched the disorders thoroughly and i am positive that i have ADD/ADHD. I almost cried when researching because it was so dead on and i felt like i can be helped. It really affects me during school and while trying to do homework. I told them i thought i had it and they just laughed. All i want is for them to take me to get tested for it. They refuse. It is so frustrating, and i think that they don't know what its like to have these disorders so they wouldnt understand.

AND ADVICE???

My suggestion would be to contact your family physician directly. Make an appointment for yourself..If your parents won't take your seriously then you must be pro-active for your own well being. I am sure your doctor will be happy to see you and discuss what you might have...If needed ask a friend/friends parent to drive you...
Take care and best wishes...there is help out there for you...I have dyslexia and my parents thought I was just using it as an excuse and low and behold...I was right...Happy New Year!!!

yeah, they probably wouldnt understand. I was diagnosed for adhd too.

Chances are you are a man right?
Well men more frequently get adhd.

But here is the bright side. You having adhd is really just a normal thing for guys, as they cannot sit still. I still dread cleaning my room, and doing some homework.

Here are some tips, if you have or dont have adhd.

- Eat some protein. Your a smart guy, all it takes is reading the GRAMS part on a nutrition facts label compared to Total Carbohydrates on every product.

If you take in more protein you will not have insulin crashes. An insulin crash makes you tired or really hyper as you continue to eat just sugary foods. Clearly avoid your juices as they can cause the adhd.

You might want to consider asking your parents to buy some protein powder. I do it.

A good diet is the cure. And the american diet has been a problem recently (too much sugar and carbohydrates)

And if your parents do not agree ask them how many things were in their food when they were your age that they could not pronounce.

The food additives and chemicals cause adhd.

But it obviously can be controlled.
Im proof. Add a b- vitamin too.
You might have low desire and need to up levels of dopamine
(A chemical in the brain generally known as a reward mechanism of the body)

If you know you do not like homework but like going out and playing basketball... dopamine may be the problem.

B- vitamin and tyrosine (amino acid) can help cure it.

but sometimes, in general the disorder ADHD is just a cover up to other problems , such as depression or bipolar, either of the two could be the cause of your belief you have adhd.

You should go to a doctor and not try to self-diagnose. Save that for the people that went to school for it. Everyone shows signs of something, but that doesn't mean they have it. Since your parents won't support your going to a doctor, talk to someone at school about it. Is there a counselor there that you can talk to? Another adult would be more likely to get through to your parents if there is really something wrong with you.

You are in school --
so go to the school counselor and ask for help. That's the best place to start. They usually have at least basic tests for it.

Maybe your parents don't believe you, but if they hear it from another authoritative source, they will.

By the way -- self diagnosis is standing on shaky ground.

Talk to your teachers and see if they agree with you. Teachers aren't trained, but they have a good idea as to who really is ADD/ADHD. Your parents aren't going to listen to you, but they might listen to school officials.

Paying attention will always and inevitably cure a lack of attention.

Just practice this.

Fail all your classes.
When your parents ask why.
Tell them you couldn't concentrate, lol.
Nahh just kidding.
Talk to a counselor.
