Why join as a gun bunny when you can be infantry? Change your MOS to 11B.

Serious now, I don't know anything about people getting days off in a war zone. Now, if you are talking about back at a duty station, then it could be the training schedule and training holidays. Training holidays are usually given after extensive training periods away from home. They can be a three or four day weekend but with the current war on terror and pace the army is moving, I would not place much thought to training holidays. I would value my training time and pay as much attention to detail as possible.

Now, back to the MOS stuff. If you want loud bangs, then go 13B or 13M. If you want to be the one to give them the directions to the target then go 13F. As a 13F, you will probably be assigned or attached to infantry, armor or a cav unit. Infantry, armor and cav units usually train more often then artillery guys. I believe as a 13F, you will have to attend the training events for all the units, the artillery and maneuver units.

13B is a Field Artillery Crewmember. You shoot artillery pieces. From towed 109s - 155s to Self propelled howitzers (Palladins)
13F is a Field Artillery Forward Observer. You tell the artillery where to shoot. And help them in making sure their guns are shooting true.
13M is a Multiple Launch Rocket Systems Crewmember. You shoot rockets from MLRS launchers. This MOS is being phased down currently and has limited duty stations.

Any MOS in the Field Artillery is a good choice!
KING OF BATTLE!! Field Artillery leads the way.

Being the newest and having the lowest rank, you will be driving the MLRS. They sound like big thundering beast. When you get promoted to Sergeant, you will be shooting thise nice big rockets. And then when you are a Staff Sergeant, you will be the track commander. You will do simple maintenance and upkeep.

Well, My husband's first MOS is a 13B and his second/current MOS is 11B(infantry) and he prefers 11B over 13B, but he had used his knowledge from his previous MOS quite a bit. I guess it all depends on what you prefer doing, and what you enjoy. Good luck!

The "best answer" is correct, but both the asking user and that guy keep saying "then" when it should be "than". 63B?? That might be old army... I know 91Bs are wheeled V mechanics now

Personally - I would recommend 19K (tank crewman).

But I am biased towards that MOS of course.

You're going to have to be more specific. Not many are going to know those designators.
