LMAO YES!!!! I have 4 children the younger 2 are boys 5 and 3. It is like having a dog. they like to mark their territory. I catch them peeing on the fence, the swing set, toys, in the bath tub, on each other (has happened 2 now), and even tried to pee on the dog. They are driving me crazy. I have been getting after them and started walking them to the bathroom and watching them..so far so good. Good Luck

No I have not had that problem. Maybe because I never cared if they peed in the backyard under a tree when playing but when you pee in the house the toilet is the only place you will pee. Does your son sit to pee ? If he does , that may be why he is doing that because most boys prefer to stand.

Even tho they're little....they are still men.

My son took up spitting everywhere in the house. I couldn't get him to stop. Then, his daddy had a talk with him and it stop. Sorry, I have no idea what he said.

Now, when my son sleepwalked... he peed everywhere in the house. I had a pitcher near by so that in a second I could grab it and follow him through-out the house. I must admit... where he choose to pee was the funniest things that he did.

my 2 love to pee anywhere given 1/2 the chance!!

I had to discipline for inappropriate peeing - but also put corkscrews in the toilet for target practice which really helped! At 6&4 they are obsessed by toilet talk which is a tad tiresome, and now they have to clear up their own mess if they miss (I tend to do it properly with bleach every evening too!)

Good book called raising boys by Steve Biddulph - worth a read!

I think all boys do this, I know mine did but at 4 know he learn some manners but it took time. boys are so lucky wish we can do that when we are out and the public restrooms are yuckier than the trees. best way to help him stop is love love and guidance do not forget support and manners. and everything has an answer. My hubby help my boy his five now and does not do that anymore one time he peed on my friends car.

I didn't have that problem. But up until 6 months ago I wouldn't let my boys go potty anywhere but the toilet. The only reason I let them now is because we live in a 1 bathroom house. And as soon as someones in the shower they have got to go. Good luck =)

I have heard of it...I work in a child day care center..and I have a 3 year old son so..I definately know. I use time out with mine. If he pees on something other than the potty on purpose..he goes straight to time out. One minute per year of age..your son is 5 so for 5 minutes. Let him know who is in control. Also..make it fun for him...put cheerios..or tell him when he needs to go to the bathroom he can get a handful of cheerios to put in there and he can aim for them. That is if you don't want to do the time out thing. Good Luck.

ohhh...boys will be boys!

I have no idea why they do some of the things they do.......!!!

Mine peed in the garbage can, next to the toilet, because he was in a rush and didn't have time to flush!! He was 5....this was last year!

i have two boys and yes it is very normal but u need to teach them that it is not acceptable.my son started it when he was two, peeing behind doors, in toy boxes and even on my sisters cat and in the liter box and he finally grew out of it around 7 when i caught him and his friend peeing in the street. so i sooo can relate to you just keep on him and eventually he'll grow out of it.

not really. He often missed the toilet at that age (and now) but only because his bladder was so full he couldn't pee properly
