primer coats and prepares the walls for the final color. It can cover stains and previous paint. Kiltz primer will put a barrier for mold and keep it from forming.

It preps the wall for paint. Or it can be used as a cover up for darker colors that you want to paint over. Basically it will make the end result look flawless! ...Well depending on your painting :)

Primer is a base coat which will prevent the color which is presently in your room from leaching through the new color you will use to repaint.

the first three are all right in a way but it is also a bonding agent to help the new paint stick better.
