Graves Disease is an autoimmune disease which causes hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland). This causes symptoms that include heart palpitations, weight loss, diarrhea, sweating, vision problems etc.
It is diagnosed with blood tests which measure the amount of thyroid hormone in the blood.
The treatment can be medical (pills) or surgical (removal of the thyroid) or radioactive iodine.
